MOTOR VEHICLES INSPECTOR (NON-TECHNICAL)

No. of Vacancies: 66 Nos. (UR-35, OBC-10, SC-14, ST-04, Meritorious Sportsperson-01, PWD-02)

 

Educational Qualification:

i) Must have Bachelor’s degree of a recognized University.

ii) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).

 

Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 39 years as on 01.01.2018.

 

Pay Scale: Rs. 7,100/- – Rs. 37,600/- with Grade Pay Rs. 3,900/-

 

The vacancies are in the Transport Department under the Govt. of West Bengal. The post is Temporary but likely to be Permanent.
Reserved Category candidates from the states other than West Bengal shall be treated as General Candidates.

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

 

Physical Standards:
(i) Height — 170 cms (160 cms for ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded) — 86 cms (81 cms for ST); Chest (expanded) — 91 cms (86 cms for ST)

Cut-off in Physical Standards: For candidates belonging to certain categories/ communities or of certain States/Areas; the cut-off in such candidate’s Height/ Chest’s measurement will be as per Govt. norms. Please see officially released advertisement for more details.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination and Personality Test.
