Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, Visakhapatnam, is inviting applications from eligible candidates for Apprenticeship Training at the Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, for one-year duration training.   • Candidates born on or before 02 May 2009 shall be eligible for applying apprenticeship training batch 2023-24.

Education Qualification – 

  • SSC / Matric / Std X (50% in aggregate) & ITI (NCVT/SCVT) (60% in aggregate)

How to Apply –

The following procedure is to be  followed for applying for Apprenticeship Training at www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in
web portal under National Apprenticeship Promotion Scheme (NAPS):-

  • Before starting the process of profile registration, the candidate must
    ensure that name and date of birth on the Aadhar card must be matching with
    SSC Certificate. Otherwise, change the details in the Aadhar card according
    to the SSC Certificate.
  • Log on to www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Web portal. Then home page
    of the website would open.
  • Click on the Register module on the home page. Then drop-down menu
    with various options will appear. Click on Candidate in the drop-down menu.
  • A page titled Candidate Registration would open. The candidate is
    required to fill up his personal details, and contact details, in the form and then
    submit the application by clicking the submit option.
  • Post submission of the application a system-generated auto mail would be
    sent to the e-mail ID for profile activation. Candidates have to activate their
    profiles.
  • Go back to the Home page of www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in. Click on login
    on the home page. To open a profile, candidates have to enter their registered Gmail ID and password.
  • Post login, candidates have to enter or edit their personal details, enter educational details, and trade preference, and validate their Aadhar number.
  • Post completion of the registration process, open the candidate profile, download, and take a printout from the web portal for forwarding the same to DAS (Vzg).
  • Take the printout of the hall ticket format placed in part – II of Annexure – I of this advertisement. Page 3 of 8.
  • Two original hall tickets (duly filled by the candidate) with two recent passport color photographs pasted at the earmarked box are required to be enclosed along with Apprentice Profile.
  • Apprentice Profile, two original hall tickets, and all relevant documents along with the check-off list placed in Part – III of Annexure – I of this advertisement indicating the status of enclosed documents are required to be forwarded to “The Officer-in-Charge (for Apprenticeship), Naval Dockyard Apprentices School, VM Naval Base S.O., P.O., Visakhapatnam – 530 014, Andhra Pradesh” by Post so as to reach at DAS (V) by 09 Jan 2023. This would be considered an offline application for the purpose of enrollment.
  • Both online (profile registration at web portal) and offline (hard copy of the application by post) is mandatory for considering the candidature of an applicant for further scrutiny and issue of hall ticket for written examination. Non-receipt of both (Online/offline) applications would disqualify the candidature of the applicant automatically.

Selection Process –

  • Shortlisting of candidates for the issue of call letters will be undertaken based on marks secured in the SSC/ Matriculation/ Class 10 exam and ITI marks, in a ratio of 70:30 and a merit list will be drawn up. Call letters for appearing in the written examination will be sent to the shortlisted applicants in the ratio of 1:5 against existing vacancies in each trade and category to maintain reservation quota as per existing guidelines. Written examination would be objective type consist of 50 questions (Mathematics 20, General Science 20, General Knowledge 10), with each question carrying one and a half (1½) marks. Candidates in the order of merit of written examination would be called for interview in various reservation categories and trades. The interview is based on the technical skills of the candidates in their respective trades. Candidates finally selected for the interview will have to undergo a medical examination.
