To be eligible for the Odisha Special Striking Force (OSSF) recruitment, candidates must meet the following criteria:
(1) For JCOs/Ministerial Staff:
- Must be retired personnel from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, or CAPFs.
- Retirement should have occurred within the last five years (as of November 20, 2024).
- Must have been honorably discharged from service.
(2) For NCOs/Sepoys:
- Must be retired personnel from the Army or CAPFs.
- Retirement should have occurred within the last five years (as of November 20, 2024).

(3) For Nursing Assistants:
- Must be retired personnel from the Army, Air Force, Navy, Coast Guard, or CAPFs.

- Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO): Maximum age of 55 years as of November 20, 2024.
- Havildar/Nk/LNk: Maximum age of 50 years as of November 20, 2024.

- Maximum Engagement Age: 60 years.
