P.A/ Stenographer in High Court, Calcutta, Appellate Side. Last Dt. 1/06/2012

The High Court of Calcutta, Appellate Side, is recruiting 36 persons for the post of “P.A./ Stenographer” Grade- C. The posts were on temporary basis but likely to make permanent. Candidates who meets the below mentioned criteria may apply for the post. Details below—

1. P.A./ Stenographer
Expected vacancies: 36 Nos. (Gen-24; SC-7; ST-3; OBC-2)

Qualification: Higher Secondary pass (Class 10+2) with 120 words per minute in Shorthand and 30 words per minute in Typewriting.
Candidates should have computer training certificate from any recognised Institute/ centres.

Age limit: between 18yrs to 32yrs as on 1/6/2012. Age relaxation is applicable for SC/ST candidates only by 5yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.7100—Rs.37600. Grade pay—Rs.3600 per month.

Selection Mode: Eligible candidates in all respect, shall be required to undergo a test in Shorthand at the speed of 120 words per minute. The text is to be transcribed in own handwriting within 45 minutes thereafter. The candidates selected and shortlisted on the basis of the result in the above test shall be required to undergo a further test in Shorthand, to be followed by direct transcription of the text through the aid of a Computer at the speed of 30 w.p.m. The Candidates will be given a further time of 15 minutes immediately after the completion of the dictation before they are asked to transcribe the text, for verification of the outlines.
Date and Venue will be informed to the candidates along with Admit cards/ Call Letters.
Candidates in service under Govt./ Public Sector Undertaking/ High Court should apply through Proper Channel.

How to Apply: Type the application on plain paper (legal size) neatly mentioning the below given details.
Application Fee: Rs.200 (Rs.50 for SC/ST candidates) in form of Indian Postal Order (IPO) in favour of — Registrar General, High Court, Calcutta, and payable at G.P.O., Calcutta.

Enclose the application form with attested copies of following enclosures —

  • IPO of Rs.200 as Application fee
  • 2 Nos. recent passport size photographs self-signed (paste one on application form and one stitched/ stapled with the application)
  • Attested documents such as Educational qualification, Shorthand/ typewriting certificate, Computer certificate, Age proof, Caste certificate and any other relevant documents, if any.
  • One Nos. Self-Addressed envelope (25 x 11 cms) with postal stamp of Rs.5 pasted on it.
