The vacancies are for various Ad-hoc research projects mentioned below. The candidates will be appointed on Contract basis. 1. PROJECT SCIENTIST- B (MEDICAL)
No. of Vacancies: 01 Nos. (UR)
Project Name: Japanese encephalitis epidemiology in central part of India enhanced sentinel surveillance for etiological contribution and burden following vaccination in Maharashtra and Telangana
Educational Qualification: MBBS Degree with one year Research/ Teaching experience.
OR
MD in Microbiology/ Pathology/ PSM.
Desirable: i) Diploma in Public Health.
ii) Experience in Project Management.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 26/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.61,000/- per month.
2. PROJECT SCIENTIST- B (NON-MEDICAL)

Project Name: Strengthening/ promoting evidence-based advocacy for influenza prevention and control in India (INSPIRE-II).
Educational Qualification: First class Master’s Degree in Life Sciences with two years experience in related field.
OR
Second class Master’s Degree with Ph.D in relevant subject.
OR
BDS/ B.V.Sc. degree with one year experience.
Desirable: i) Doctorate Degree in Life Sciences (Biochemistry/ Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ Virology).
ii) Additional Post Doctoral Research/ teaching experience in relevant subjects.
Age Limit: Maximum 35 years as on 26/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.48,000/- per month.
3. PROJECT RESEARCH ASSOCIATE- I
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos. (UR)
Project Name: i) Health Technology Assessment study on RT-PCR for H1N1 in India.
ii) Identification, Characterization and Validation of Neutralizing Monoclonal Antibodies against Hepatitis E Virus – SERB (DST).
Educational Qualification: Ph.D. in Life Sciences.
Desirable: i) Experience in cell culture and related techniques.
ii) Hands-on experience with molecular biology techniques including cloning, expression, real time PCR, generation of phage display library.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on 26/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.36,000/- per month.
4. PROJECT TECHNICAL ASSISTANT
No. of Vacancies: 04 Nos. (UR-02, OBC-02)
Project Name: i) Monitoring of dengue and Chikungunya viruses circulating in India for changes in the serotypes, genotype and lineages utilizing Viral Research & Diagnostic Laboratories Network.
ii) Scaling up of facilities for production of Diagnostic kits/ reagent for detection of JE, Den, & Chikungunya Viruses.
Educational Qualification: Graduate in Life Science subjects with three years work experience or Master’s degree in the above subjects.
Desirable: i) Laboratory experience in Molecular Biology/ Tissue culture techniques/ Bioinformatics, Virological techniques, Serology, handling infectious agents and fieldwork.
ii) Knowledge of computer applications and data management.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years as on 28/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 31,000/- per month.
5. PROJECT TECHNICIAN III
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos. (UR)
Project Name: i) Establishment of facility for production of positive controls of important public health viruses for diagnostic PCRs and RT-PCRs tests for virus diagnostic laboratories.
ii) Antiviral susceptibility profiling of influenza virus in India.
Educational Qualification: i) 12th pass in Science subjects.
ii) Two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or related subject or one year DMLT plus one year experience or two years field/ laboratory experience.
Note: B.Sc. degree shall be treated as three years experience
Desirable: i) B.Sc. Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ MLT.
ii) Work experience in diagnostic laboratory/ Cell culture/ ELISA/PCR/ sequencing.
iii) Knowledge of computer application/ report preparation.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years as on 28/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs.18,000/- per month.
6. PROJECT TECHNICIAN I
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos. (UR)
Project Name: Scaling up of facilities for production of Diagnostic kits/reagent for detection of JE, Den, & Chikungunya Viruses.
Educational Qualification: i) Matriculation.
ii) One year Certificate in the required discipline.
OR
iii) One year Lab/ Field/ Clinical experience
Note: 12th with Science subjects shall be treated as 02 years experience.
Desirable: i) 10 + 2 in Science.
ii) Experience in Research Laboratory/ field / handling blood samples, performing serological assays.
iii) DMLT.
iv) Knowledge of computer applications.
Age Limit: Maximum 25 years as on 28/12/2018.
Consolidated Pay: Rs. 16,000/- per month.
7. PROJECT TECHNICIAN III (FOR MUMBAI UNIT OF NIV)

Project Name: National Polio Surveillance Programme.
Educational Qualification: i) 12th pass in Science subjects.
ii) Two years diploma in Medical Laboratory Technician or related subject or one year DMLT plus one year experience or two years field/ laboratory experience.

Desirable: i) B.Sc. Microbiology/ Biotechnology/ MLT.
