Public Service Commission of West Bengal as per Advt. No. 6/2012, is inviting application for recruitment in the posts of – Inspector of Factories, District Library Officer, Assistant Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical/ Agri-Irrigation) in various departments of West Bengal. The appointment were on temporary basis but likely to become permanent. Interested candidates may apply on prescribed application format. No. of posts and eligibility criteria in brief is given below—
VARIOUS POSTS THROUGH PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISION, WEST BENGAL. ADVT.NO. 6/2012.
1. Inspector of Factories (Chemical): 4 Nos. (SC—1; OBC-B—1; PWD—1, Gen—1)
Qualification: Degree in Chemical Engineering
Experience: At least 5yrs of experience in an Engineering Workshop or Manufacturing concern or Plant
Pay scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.42, 000/- plus Grade Pay Rs.6, 600/-
2. District Library Officer: 1 Nos. (SC)
Qualification: Master’s Degree in Library Science OR second class Master’s Degree plus a degree/ diploma in Library Science

Pay scale: Rs.15600 — Rs.42, 000/- plus Grade Pay Rs.5, 400/-
3. Assistant Engineer (Mechanical and Electrical): 8 Nos. (SC—2; ST—1; OBC-A—1; Gen—4)
Qualification: Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering
Pay Scale: Same as above
4. Assistant Engineer (Agri-Irrigation): 16 Nos. (SC—4; ST—1; OBC-B—1; OBC-A—2; PWD—1; Gen—7)
Qualification: Degree in Civil or Agricultural Engineering
Pay scale: Same as above.
Age limits: For posts in sl.no. 1 and 2—35yrs (max) and for sl.no.3 and 4—32yrs (max). Age counted will be as on 1/1/2012. Relaxation is as per norms.
Very Important: Candidates applying for any one of the post must have ability to read, write and speak in Bengali. However this is not applicable for Nepali speaking candidates from the district of Darjeeling.
Application Fee: Rs.210 in form of Indian Post Order (IPO) or receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. IPO should be in favour of – the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal and payable at G.P.O. Kolkata
Candidates belonging to S.C./S.T. and PWD categories of West Bengal do not require to pay fee.
Candidates who wish to apply for more than one post can submit separate application form. Selection will be through Screening Test/ Written Test, as applicable for the post. Please refer the Advt. for details.
