Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSCWB) is inviting Application for 70 Nos. “Medical Officer” in different Specialist in West Bengal Employees’ State Insurance Medical Service (WB ESIC) under the Labour Department. Interested candidates may apply on prescribed application format downloaded from the official website of PSC WB (See below). The post is temporary but likely to be permanent. Number of Vacancies: 70 Nos. [Gen—38; SC—15; ST—4; OBC-A—6; OBC-B—5; PWD(HI/LD/CP)—2]

Distribution of vacancies as per discipline/specialities wise —
i. Radiology: 10 Nos. 
ii. Anaesthesiology: 10 Nos. 
iii. Pathology: 10 Nos. 
iv. Orthopaedics: 6 Nos. 
v. Surgery: 5 Nos. 
vi. Medicine: 8 Nos. 
vii. Obstetrics & Gynaecology: 3 Nos. 
viii. Paediatrics: 5 Nos. 
ix. Ophthalmology: 4 Nos. 
x. E.N.T.: 4 Nos. 
xi. Cardiology: 1 Nos. 
xii. Haematology: 1 Nos. 
xiii. Oncology: 1 Nos. 
xiv. Oncosurgery: 1 Nos. 
xv. Neurology: 1 Nos. 

Educational Qualification: Any of the Medical qualifications included in the First or Second Schedule or Part – II of the Third Schedule to the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (102 of 1956) AND Candidates must have registered a Medical Practitioner in West Bengal
AND Post Graduate qualification in a particular speciality or equivalent.
Desirable: Six months’ practical training as House Staff in any Government hospital or other recognized Institution is desirable, not essential.

N.B: Candidates must have ability to read, write and speak Bengali (Not applicable for Nepali speaking candidates from the hill areas of district Darjeeling).

Age Limit: Not more than 40yrs as on 1/1/2013 (relaxable for otherwise well-qualified and experienced candidates)

Pay Scale: Rs.15600/- — Rs.42000/- with Grade Pay: Rs.5,400/-. Besides pay, the posts carry allowances as admissible.
The post is temporary but likely to be permanent. The vacancies are  in West Bengal Employees’ State Insurance Medical Service (WB ESIC) under the Labour Department.

Application Fee: Interested and eligible candidates must pay Application Fee of Rs.210/– only by crossed Indian Postal Order and endorsed to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, or by a receipted Challan from a Govt. Treasury in West Bengal or the Reserve Bank of India, Kolkata under the head “0051-00-105-State PSC Examination fees-001-Examination fees-16 other fees”. 
The Postal Orders should be made payable at G.P.O., Kolkata.

NO APPLICATION FEE FOR SC/ST OF WEST BENGAL AND PWD CANDIDATES. 
Candidates who wish to apply for more than one category of posts should submit separate Application along with requisite fees for each.

Selection of the candidates will be through Personal Interview. Commission may conduct Screening Test/Written Test if the number of application received is in large or sole discretion of the authority. See the advt.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply on prescribed application format only along with attested copies (Self Attested or Gazetted officer’s Attested) of testimonials in support of eligibility such as, Madhyamik/ Equivalent certificate, Caste Certificate (if SC/ST/OBC), Medical qualification certificate, Registration certificate as Medical Practitioner, Experience certificate, if any, and any other relevant documents.

Applications should be sent strictly by registered or speed post or under certificate of posting to the Secretary, Public Service Commission, West Bengal, 161-A, S.P. Mukherjee Road, Kolkata – 700 026 so as to reach him on or before 07/01/2014. 
Application may also be submitted personally between 11-00 a.m. and 3-30 p.m. on all working days to the above address of the Commission‟s office on or before the closing date.
