ASSISTANT ENGINEER (MECHANICAL & ELECTRICAL)

No. of Vacancies: 18 Nos.

Educational Qualification:

• A degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from a recognized
  University or its equivalent.

Desirable:

• One year’s Post-Graduate practical training or study or research or practical
  engineering experience

Age Limit:

• Not more than 36 years on 01.01.2022, the age limit being relaxable, in the case of candidates who have been in the employment of the Central or the State Government or any Statutory Body recognized for the purpose by the Government and are not out of such employment for more than a year on the said date, to the extent of the actual period spent continuously in such employment. No relaxation of the age limit shall be allowed to a candidate who has already appeared in the examination thrice.

Pay Scale:

• Rs.15600 — Rs.42000

Upper Age Relaxation:

• Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC, and up to the age of 45 years for the PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms. Reserved Category candidates from states other than West Bengal will be treated as General Category candidates.

The vacancies are in the Service/ Cadre of West Bengal Service of Agricultural Engineers under the Water Resources Investigation and Development Department, Govt. of West Bengal. The posts are Temporary but likely to be Permanent.

Note:- 

• The ability to read, write and speak in Bengali is an essential requirement (not applicable for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).

Candidates’ Selection:

• Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination and Interviews.
