Punjab State Power Corporation Limited(PSPCL) – Recruitment of 1500 Lineman

Punjab State Power Corporation Ltd. (PSPCL), a power-generating and distributing organization of the Government of Punjab is inviting applications from candidates who have completed ITI in WIREMAN/ELECTRICIAN trade for Apprenticeship in Lineman trade against the seats as per Table-A below: Notification No: 01/TTI-487/57/Apprenticelineman/2022-23 Dated: 24.02.2023.

Apprenticeship in Lineman Trade for the session 2022-23

APPRENTICESHIP IN LINEMAN TRADE

Essential Qualification:

• Candidate must have done ITI in WIREMAN or ELECTRICIAN Trade (Certificate should be duly issued by NCVT/SCVT).
• Note: Candidates whose results have been officially and publically declared till the last date of online registration shall only be eligible to apply.

Stipend:

• As per Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rule, 1992 as amended from time to time. The current stipend is Rs. 7700/per month.

Knowledge of Punjabi:

• Qualification of Punjabi is essential for all applicants. For this purpose, all the candidates must have passed Punjabi of at least Matriculation or its equivalent level up to the last date of submission of online application (education qualification must be from a recognized institution).

Age Limit:

• As per Apprentices Act, 1961 and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended from time to time. The minimum age as of 01.02.2023 for eligibility for this apprenticeship training is 18 years.

Period of Apprenticeship:

• The selected candidates shall undergo apprenticeship training under PSPCL for 1 year (as per the Apprentices Act, 1961, and Apprenticeship Rules, 1992 as amended from time to time). Apprenticeship is merely a 1-year training and it does not assure any kind of JOB/appointment under PSPCL.

Important Note:

1. Only Punjab resident/domicile candidates will be considered.
2. All category candidates are required to produce Punjab Domicile issued on or after 01.01.2023.
3. PSPCL reserves the right to increase or decrease the no. of seats as indicated above or cancel the entire/partial selection against the said notification or make any changes in the conditions of this notification at any stage without giving any reason/notice.
4. Candidates are advised to read the category-wise breakup very carefully before filling up the online application. Candidate shall apply only in that category to which he/she belongs and He/she should possess reservation certificates in accordance with GoP instructions. Category once filled will be considered final and no benefit of another category will be admissible later on. It is further informed that the candidature of such candidates who have applied under the wrong category will be ‘Rejected’ without giving any further notice.
5. As per sections 3-A and 3-B of the Apprentices Act, 1961, the Reservation of training places for the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes and for backward Classes in designated trades have been made.
6. As per the latest amendment made by the Ministry of Law and Justice (Legislative Department) in ‘THE RIGHTS OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITY ACT 2016’, which has been further adopted by Govt. of Punjab vide memo no. 1/1/2017/3DC-1543557/1 dated 06.08.2019, reservation for a Person with a disability has been increased from 3%
   to 4%.
7. No separate 33% reservation shall be given to women candidates for Apprenticeship in Lineman Trade.

About Exam:

• The online Exam will be bilingual (English/Punjabi). Thus, during the online examination candidates will have the option to choose the language (English/Punjabi) of the examination, and the question paper will consist of 100 objective-type questions. However, the 20 no. questions regarding the knowledge of Punjabi Grammar will only be in Punjabi.
• The syllabus of the online exam will be as per the trade syllabus of CTS courses of Electrician and Wireman as available on the website of the Directorate General of Training (www.dgt.gov.in/cts_details).

Important Date:

• Start date of receiving online applications 27.02.2023
• Closing date of online registration and fees 27.03.2023

Selected candidates have to register on the portal (www.apprenticeshipindia.gov.in) before joining the allotted station as apprentice linemen in PSPCL.
