Sports wise vacancies:
i) Football: 16 posts (Male-10, Female-06)
ii) Archery: 14 posts (Male-08, Female-06)
iii) Rowing: 12 posts (Male-06, Female-06)
iv) Athletics: 13 posts (Male-07, Female-06)
v) Taekwondo: 06 posts (Male-03, Female-03)
vi) Karate-DO: 17 posts (Male-10, Female-07)
vii) Judo: 12 posts (Male-06, Female-06)
viii) Boxing: 15 posts (Male-08, Female-07)
ix) Rifle Shooting: 08 posts (Male-04, Female-04)
x) Equestrian: 03 posts (Male-02, Female-01)
Educational Qualification: Matriculation from a recognised Board.
Sports Qualification: Players who have participated in any International Competition/ National Competitions/ InterUniversity Tournaments/ National Sports/ Games for Schools National award winner in National Physical Efficiency Drive.
Age Limit: Minimum 18 years and maximum 23 years as on 01/01/2019.
The vacancies are against Assam Rifles Meritorious Sportspersons Quota Recruitment Rally- 2019.
The Recruitment Rally will tentatively be held from 15/04/2019. The Recruitment Rally will be held at Directorate General Assam Rifles, Laitkor, Shillong (Meghalaya), NRS-Guwahati.
PWD candidates are not eligible to apply.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 10 years for SC/ST and 05 years for GEN/ OBC category.
Physical Standards:
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 170 cms (162.5 cms for ST candidates); Chest (unexpanded) — 80 cms (76 cms for ST); Chest (expanded) — 85 cms (81 cms for ST)
(ii) Female Candidates: Height — 157 cms (150 cms for ST candidates)
Cut-off in Physical Standards: For candidates belonging to certain categories/ communities or of certain States/Areas; the cut-off in such candidate’s Height/ Chest’s measurement will be as per Govt. norms. Please see officially released advertisement for more details.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Document Verification, Physical Standard Test (PST), Field Trials and Medical Examination.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen.
