SSC (EASTERN REGION) INVITES APPLICATION FOR 96 POSTS OF SUB INSPECTOR (FIRE), RESEARCH INVESTIGATOR (FORESTRY), FIELDMAN, DUPLICATING MACHINE OPERATOR, SR. SCIENTIFIC ASST, MARKET INTELLIGENCE OFFICER (ECONOMICS) AND SR. RADIO TECHNICIAN. LAST DATE — 21/09/2015

 

1. Sub-Inspector (Fire) (Only Male candidates): 77 Nos. (36-UR, 24-OBC, 11-SC, 06-ST (including 08 vacancies are reserved for Ex-Serviceman categories))
Educational Qualification: A degree in Science with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics
OR Matriculation or equivalent and three years diploma in Mechanical/ Civil/ Electrical/ Automobiles/ Chemical/ Mining/ Aeronautical/ Telecommunication Engineering or equivalent examination passed.

Physical Standard Test
Height – 170 cms (165cms for Hill areas and NE States/ 162.5 cms for Tribals/Adivasis including Mizos & Nagas)
Chest (unexpanded/ expanded) – 81cms/ 86cms (77/82cms for Tribals/Adivasis including Mizos & Nagas)
Weight – Corresponding to height.
Vision – Better eye Corrected Vision 6/6 and Worse eye Corrected Vision 6/12 or, 6/9 6/9 J-I J-II
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high colour vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties
Age Limit: 18 years to 30 years as on 21/09/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.9300/- – Rs.34800/- and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

 

2. Research Investigator (Forestry): 05 Nos. (02-UR, 01-OBC, 02-SC)
Educational Qualification: Master’s Degree in Statistics or Operations Research or Forestry or Economics (with Statistics) or Commerce (with Statistics) or Mathematics (with Statistics) or Agriculture (with Statistics) or two years’ Post-Graduate Diploma in Forestry Management
AND One years’ experience in collection or compilation or analysis of data including data in Agriculture or forestry work.
Age Limit: 18 years to 30 years as on 21/09/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.9300/- – Rs.34800/- and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

 

3. Fieldman: 10 Nos. (03-UR, 06-OBC, 01-ST)
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent examination passed
Age Limit: 18 years to 28 years as on 21/09/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.5200 – Rs.20200/- and Grade Pay: Rs.1900/-

 

4. Duplicating Machine Operator: 01 Nos. (OBC)
Educational Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent examination passed and Certificate on operating Duplicating Machine.
Age Limit: 18 years to 28 years as on 21/09/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.5200 – Rs.20200/- and Grade Pay: Rs.1900/-

 

5. Senior Scientific Assistant: 01 Nos. (OBC)
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in Bacteriology or Microbiology or Biochemistry or Pharmacy or Physiology or Chemistry
Age Limit: 18 years to 30 years as on 21/09/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.9300/- – Rs.34800/- and Grade Pay: Rs.4600/-

 

6. Market Intelligence Inspector (Economics): 01 Nos. (UR)
Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s Degree in Economics or Commerce or Statistics with Economics as a subject from a recognized University
Age Limit: 18 years to 30 years as on 21/09/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.9300/- – Rs.34800/- and Grade Pay: Rs.4600/-

 

7. Senior Radio Technician: 01 Nos. (ST)
Educational Qualification: Degree in Electronics or Electrical Communication Engineering from a recognized University or equivalent
OR Diploma in Electronics/Electrical Communication or Radio Engineering with 3 years’ experience in installation/ maintenance of Electrical/ Wireless equipment such as Wireless Transmitters, Receivers and Aerial Systems.
Age Limit: 18 years to 30 years as on 21/09/2015
Pay Scale: Rs.9300/- – Rs.34800/- and Grade Pay: Rs.4200/-

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD & as per Govt. norms for Ex-Servicemen & others

 

Candidates’ Selection: Usually, the selection to the posts will be made on the basis of an Interview/ Personality Test/ Skill Test. Candidates applying for the post of Sub-Inspector (Fire) will have to go through Physical Efficiency Test and Medical Examination. See officially released advertisement for more details.

Candidates will be called for the Examination (Skill Test/Screening Test/Personality Test/Interview wherever applicable) at the Office of the Staff Selection Commission (Eastern region), Kolkata.

Examination Fee:  Candidates must pay Rs.50/- as Examination Fee.

Fee can be paid by means of “Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (CRFS)” only. These stamps are available at the counter of all Post Offices of the country. These Recruitment Fee Stamps may be pasted on the application form in the space earmarked for the purpose. These Recruitment Stamps must be got cancelled from the Counter Clerks of any Post Office of issue with the date stamp of the Issuing Office.

Fee can be also paid through Online mode by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available.

Note: In order to pay Examination Fee online, candidates will have to register themselves on the Commission’s Portal by providing basic details upon which Registration ID will be generated. After paying the fee, candidates should mention this Registration ID in their Application form which is to be made on prescribed application format (see PDF below)

NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF WOMEN CANDIDATES, SC/ST, PWD AND EX-SERVICEMEN CATEGORIES.
