Candidates’ Selection: 

  • The Civil Services Examination will consist of two successive stages-
  • Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination (Objective type) for the selection of candidates for the Main Examination; and
  • Civil Services (Main) Examination (Written and Interview) for the selection of candidates for the various Services and posts noted above.

Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination will be held at various centers across the country.

Application Fee:

  • Candidates must pay an Application Fee of Rs.100/-. Fee can be paid through Online mode during the submission of the online application form by using a Debit/Credit card Net banking or any other option available. See the officially released advertisement for more details.

NO APPLICATION FEE IS REQUIRED IN THE CASE OF SC/ST, PWD, AND ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES.

How to Apply:

  • Candidates are required to apply online by using the website upsconline.nic.in. It is essential for the applicant to register himself/herself first at the One Time Registration (OTR) platform, available on the Commission’s website, and then proceed for filling up the online application for the examination. OTR has to be registered only once in a lifetime. This can be done anytime throughout the year. If the candidate is already registered, he/she can proceed straightway to filling up the online application for the examination.

  • Last Date to Apply Online: 21-02-2023 up to 06:00 PM
  • Date for Correction Window: 22 to 28-02-2023
  • Date for Prelims Exam: 28-05-2023
