On the basis of the result of the examination, candidates will be selected for recruitment to the West Bengal Civil Service (Exe.) and certain other services and posts mentioned below. WEST BENGAL CIVIL SERVICE (EXE) ETC. EXAMINATION, 2019
Educational Qualification:
i) A degree of a recognized University.
ii) Ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali).
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 36 years for Group ‘A’ & ‘C’ posts, Minimum 20 years and maximum 36 years for West Bengal Police Service & Minimum 21 years and maximum 39 years for Group ‘D’ posts as on 01/01/2019.
On the basis of the result of the examination, candidates will be selected for recruitment to the West Bengal Civil Service (Exe.) and certain other services and posts. The names of services and posts are given below:
I. GROUP – A
i) West Bengal Civil Service (Executive).
ii) Assistant Commissioner of Revenue in the integrated West Bengal Revenue Service.
iii) West Bengal Co-operative Service.
iv) West Bengal Labour Service.
v) West Bengal Food and Supplies Service.
vi) West Bengal Employment Service (Except the post of Employment Officer (Technical)).
II. GROUP – B
West Bengal Police Service.
III. GROUP – C
i) Superintendent, District Correctional Home / Deputy Superintendent, Central Correctional Home.
ii) Joint Block Development Officer.
iii) Deputy Assistant Director of Consumer Affairs and Fair Business Practices.
iv) West Bengal Junior Social Welfare Service.
v) West Bengal Subordinate Land Revenue Service, Grade-I.
vi) Assistant Commercial Tax Officer.
vii) Joint Registrar (West Bengal State Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission under the Consumer Affairs Department, Government of West Bengal).
viii) Assistant Canal Revenue Officer (Irrigation).
ix) Chief Controller of Correctional Service.
IV. GROUP – D
i) Inspector of Co-operative Societies.
ii) Panchayat Development Officer under the Panchayat and Rural Development Department.
iii) Rehabilitation Officer under the Refugee Relief and Rehabilitation Department.
Initially all appointments will be made on Temporary basis. Reserved Category candidates from the states other than West Bengal shall be treated as General Candidates.
Note: For West Bengal Police Service, candidates should possess the minimum height requirement as given in the Official Advt. For more details please see the Official Advt.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST and 03 years for OBC. For PWD category, Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. The Preliminary Examination will be held tentatively on 20/01/2019. The Preliminary Examination will be held at the following centres- Kolkata (North & South), Baruipur, Diamond Harbour, Barrackpore, Barasat, Howrah, Burdwan, Asansol, Medinipur, Tamluk, Bankura, Berhampore, Malda, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Siliguri, Kalimpong and Darjeeling. The Main Examination will be held in Kolkata. The Personality Test will be held in the office of the Public Service Commission, West Bengal, in Kolkata.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.210/- as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ST CANDIDATES OF WEST BENGAL AND PWD CANDIDATES.
How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Public Service Commission, West Bengal (PSCWB) — www.pscwbapplication.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 06/11/2018 to 26/11/2018.
Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
