West Bengal Staff Selection Commission (WBSSC) is inviting application from the eligible candidates for 1133 posts of Lower Division Assistant/ Lower Division Clerk. LOWER DIVISION ASSISTANT (LDA)/ LOWER DIVISION CLERK (LDC) (Group – C)
Total Vacancies –  599 Posts. Increased to 1133 Posts.

Distribution of vacancies as per Department wise are as follows –

1. Personnel & Administrative Reforms: 300 Nos. 
2. School Education: 36 Nos. 
3. Agricultural Marketing: 05 Nos. 
4. Fisheries: 10 Nos. 
5. Irrigation & Waterways: 110 Nos. 
6. Youth Services: 25 Nos. 
7. Finance (Revenue): 07 Nos. 
8. Food Processing Industries & Horticulture: 30 Nos. 
9. Social Welfare: 49 Nos. 
10. Correctional Administration: 05 Nos. 
11. Industrial Training: 02 Nos.
12. Higher Education: 20 Nos.

Break up of vacancies as per SC/ST, OBC, Ex-Servicemen is not yet fully declared as some of the department has not yet reported. Information regarding reservation will in intimated in details in due course.

The vacancies are further breaks up into district wise. Exact number of vacancies as per district wise will be published in the official website of SSC in due course.

 

Educational Qualification: Madhyamik Examination pass from the West Bengal Board of Secondary Education or its equivalent.
And should have elementary knowledge in Computer operation with the ability of typing on Computer at the speed of 20 words per minute in English or 10 words per minute in Bengali from a reputed organization for a period not less than 6 (six) months.

 

Age Limit: Not less than 18 years and not more than 40 years as on 01/02/2015. Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC, 10 years for PWD & as per Govt. norms for Ex-Servicemen & others

Note: SC/ST, OBC of other States will be treated as as unreserved/general candidates.

 

Pay Scale: Rs.5400 – Rs.25200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2600/-

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination which will be in two parts, viz. Part-I and Part-II and shall be held on two different dates.

The Part-I will carry 100 marks having 100 questions of 1 (one) mark each, comprising of multiple choice objective type questions on English (30 marks), General Studies (40 marks) and Arithmetic (30 marks).

Part-I Examination will tentatively hold in 6th June, 2016

Candidates who will qualify the Part-I Examination will be called for Part-II Examination which will be conventional type on (i) Group-A: English and (ii) Group-B: Bengali or Hindi or Urdu or Nepali. See officially released advertisement for more details.

Final merit list shall be prepared on the basis of total marks obtained in the Part-I and Part-II Examination.

Examination Fee: Rs.220/- (including processing fee) for General and OBC candidates as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking or any other option available. NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ST AND PWD CATEGORIES.

Upon successful submission of online application form, the system generated Registration Slip with registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future references. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/ DOCUMENTS TO WBSSC AT THIS STAGE. 

Candidates facing inconvenience while making online application or if candidates have no access to internet, then such candidates may submit their online Application form through authorized “Tathya Mitra” kendras available in gram panchayat/rural areas of West Bengal, set up by the Govt. of West Bengal. Tathya Mitra kendras will charge Rs.20/- extra as service charges.
