India Post – Assam Postal Circle is recruiting 77 Nos. Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) and Postman/ Mail Guard. Educational qualification norms and eligibility criteria in brief are given below —
1. MULTI TASKING STAFF
Number of Vacancies: 27 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or ITI pass.
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.1800/-
2. POSTMAN/ MAIL GUARD
Number of Vacancies: 40 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation or equivalent
Pay Scale: Rs.5200—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/-
Age Limit (For both posts): 18yrs to 27yrs as on 02/07/2014. Upper age relaxation for reserved categories is as per norms. (See the link given below for details)
Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination (Multiple Choice Questions). The questions will be of Matriculation level on – General Knowledge, Mathematics, English and Regional Language (Assamese). See link below for details.
Examination Fee: General and OBC candidates shall pay Examination fee of Rs.400/– . Fee is to be paid through e-payment enabled Post Offices by means of fee payment challan.
NO FEE FOR SC/ST/PH AND WOMEN CANDIDATES.

Before starting Registration of his/her application on the website, the Applicant should read the notification, instruction sheet and FAQs carefully.
After successful registration, provisional Unique Registration Number (URN) will be generated by the system and displayed on the screen. The registration number along with password shall be sent to the applicant to the given email ID and SMS to given Mobile Number in the application.
The Applicant has to use the registration number and password for log in into the website where he can generate and print-out the Fee Challan in triplicate to pay the fee. Applicant has to take out a print out of the system generated Fee Payment Challan.
The Applicant has to retain this number and password for future reference. Do not send the print-outs to anywhere.
Important Dates:
Starting date of Online Application: 03/06/2014
Closing date of Online Application: 02/07/2014 (10 AM sharp)
Last date of submitting Examination Fee: 07/07/2014.
Tentative date of Examination: 27/07/2014 and candidates may download their Admit Card from 15/07/2014.
