For BORDER SECURITY FORCE: 1185 Nos. (Gen—274; OBC—526; SC—356; ST—29)
Eligible border districts of West Bengal for this Recruitment Rally: South 24 PGS, North 24 PGS, Nadia, Murshidabad, Malda, Dakshin Dinaj Pur, Uttar DinajPur, Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri and Coochbehar can appear for open recruitment rally

For SASHASTRA SEEMA BAL (SSB): 165 Nos. (Gen—21; OBC—96; SC—48; ST—00)
Eligible border districts of West Bengal for this Recruitment Rally: Darjeeling and Jalpaiguri.

Candidates from the above listed districts of West Bengal can appear for the Open Recruitment Rally of SSB and BSF respectively. The engagement is on temporary basis but likely to be made permanent.

Pay Scale: Rs.5200 – 20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2000/- plus other allowances as per norms.

Age Limit: Between 18 to 23 years as on 1st Jan’ 2013. Upper age limit is relaxable by 3 years for OBC and 5 years for SC/ST candidates. Others—as per norms.

Qualification Required: Minimum Matriculation (Madhyamik pass) or equivalent.

Physical Standards: —
For Gen/ SC and OBC candidates: Height— 162.5 cms; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 76/ 81 cms; Weight— Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

For ST candidates: Height— 162.5 cms; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded)— 76/ 81 cms; Weight— Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards.

For Candidates belonging from GTA comprising of of the three Sub-Division of Darjeeling district namely Darjeeling, Kalimpong and Kureseong and includes the following “Mouzas” Sub-Division of these District – (1) Lohargarh Tea Garden, (2) Lohagarh Forest, (3) Rangmohan, (4) Barachenga, (5) Panighata, (6) Chota Adalpur, (7) Paharu, (8) Sukna Forest, (9) Sukna Part I, (10) Pantapati Forest-1, (11) Mahanadi Forest, (12) Champasari Forest, (13) Salbari Chhatpart-II, (14) Sitong Forest, (15) Sivoke Hill Forest, (16) Sivoke Forest, (17) Chhota Chenga, (18) Nipania.: Height— 162.5 cms; Chest (unexpanded/ expanded): 77/ 82 cms; Weight— Proportionate to height and age as per medical standards

Eye Sight: Minimum distance vision should be 6/6 and 6/9 both eyes without glasses and they should possess high colour vision.
The Candidates must not have knock-knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and they should possess high color vision. Candidates must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties.

Selection of the candidates will be through – Physical Efficiency Test, Written Test and Medical Examination.
(a) Physical efficiency Test : There will be 05 Kilometres race to be completed within 24 minutes.
(b) Written Test : The written test will consist of objective type multiple choice question. The question paper will consist of 100 marks to be attempted in 2 hours.
(c) Medical examination will be conducted as per BSF Medical Manual.

The eligible/willing male candidates can participate to Physical/Education Training (pre-recruiting training) for guidance-cum training for appearing in Special Recruitment Rallies to be conducted w.e.f. 22nd April’ 2013 to 21st May’ 2013 at their nearest BSF HQ at free of cost.

N.B: The participation of pre-recruiting training programme is optional. Candidates who have not take part or unable to take parts are also eligible to appear on the Recruitment Rally which is going to be on 27th May 2013.
