RECRUITMENT AGAINST SCOUTS AND GUIDES QUOTA FOR THE YEAR 2016-2017
- CATEGORY -1 GROUP ‘C’ (NTPC ONLY)
No. of Vacancies: 02 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Class 12th or its equivalent examination with 50% marks (Pass marks for SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen)
Scouting/Guiding Requirement:
i) President’s Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section
ii) Should have been an active member of a Scout Organisation for the least 05 years.
iii) Should have attended two events at National level or All Indian Railways’ level and two events at State level.
Age Limit: Minimum-18 years and maximum-29 years as on 01.01.2017
Pay Scale: Rs.5200/- Rs.20200/- with Grade Pay Rs.1900/-
- CATEGORY – 2 ERSTWHILE GROUP ‘D’
No. of Vacancies: 08 Nos.
Educational Qualification: Passed Class-10th or ITI or equivalent or National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) granted by NCVT.
Scouting/Guiding Requirement:
i) President’s Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger OR Himalayan Wood Badge (HWB) holder in any section
ii) Should have been an active member of a Scout Organisation for the least 05 years.
iii) Should have attended two events at National level or All Indian Railways’ level and two events at State level.
Age Limit: Minimum-18 years and maximum-32 years as on 01.01.2017
Pay Scale: Rs.5200/- Rs.20200/- with Grade Pay Rs.1900/-
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Written Examination and Scouting Skill Assessment.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs. 500/- (Rs. 250/- for ST, Ex-servicemen, PWD, Women, Minorities and Economically Backward Classes) as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Indian Postal Order drawn in favour of F&CAO, Eastern Railway Kolkata, payable at GPO, Kolkata. Candidates must write their name, full address at the space provided in the IPO.
