IISCO Steel Plant – Burnpur (West Bengal),  a Unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL), is recruiting 605 candidates for the following non-executive posts — Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee), Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee) and Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation). 1. OPERATOR-CUM-TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE): 300 Nos. (Gen—150; SC—69; ST—15; OBC—66). Out of total, 9nos. for PWD and 30nos. for Ex-serviceman.

Distribution of vacancies according to Discipline wise —
— Mechanical: 75 Nos.
— Electrical: 75 Nos.
— Metallurgy: 40 Nos.
— Electronics: 35 Nos.
— Instrumentation: 35 Nos.
— Chemical: 20 Nos.
— Ceramics: 10 Nos.
— Civil: 10 Nos.

2. ATTENDANT-CUM-TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE): 300 Nos. (Gen—150; SC—69; ST—15; OBC—66). Out of total vacancies, 9nos. for PWD and 30nos. for Ex-serviceman candidates.

— Electrician: 80 Nos.
— Welder: 30 Nos.
— Air-conditioning/ Refrigeration: 20 Nos.
— Draughtsman: 10 Nos.

— Turner: 10 Nos.
— Instrument Mechanics: 5 Nos.
— IT & ESM: 10 Nos.

3. OPERATOR-CUM-TECHNICIAN (BOILER OPERATION): 5 Nos. (Gen—1; SC—2; ST—1; OBC—1). Out of total, 1 Nos. reserved for PWD candidates.

Educational Qualification:—
Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee): 3 years full time Diploma in engineering in Mechanical/ Electrical/ Electronics/ Metallurgy/ Chemical/ Ceramics/ Civil, and Instrumentation discipline

Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee): Matriculation and ITI in Fitter/ Welder/ Electrician/ Air conditioning /Refrigeration/ /Draughtsman/Machinist/Turner/ Instrument Mechanic/ Electronic Mechanic / IT & ESM trades

Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation): 3 years full time Diploma in engineering from Govt. Recognised Institute with 2nd Class or 1st Class Certificate of Boiler Competency.

Age Limits (As on 01/01/2013): Between 28yrs to 31yrs for Trainees and between 30yrs to 33yrs for Boiler Operation. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST- 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman & any other Categories – As per Govt. norms.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Interview and Medical Examination. (For details, refer the Advt. link below).

Application fee: For Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee), Grade S-3 and Operator-cum-Technician—Rs.250/- (Rs.50 only for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
For Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee) – Rs.150/ – (Rs.50 for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
Application fee is to be paid by means of Fee Challan, which can be downloaded from the SAIL’s website, through State Bank of India in a specially opened Account No: “Power Jyoti” -31932241266 of SBI, Burnpur.

After final submission of Online application form, candidates must print-out the system generated Registration Slip with unique Registration number.
There is no need to send any documents to SAIL. Registered candidates may log-in by entering their Registration Number and Date of Birth to download their e-admit card in due course.
