67 Boys/Girls as “Junior Assistant” and “Teacher (Urdu medium)” in Municipal Service Commission, Kolkata.

Municipal Service Commission, Kolkata, is recruiting “Junior Assistant” and “Teacher (Urdu Medium)”. The recruitment is for reserved category only. Higher Secondary Pass boys and girls may apply for the post. Details given below—

1. Junior Assistantonly candidates (Male/ Female) belonging to SC,ST & OBC categories may apply for the post.


No. of vacancies: 51 Nos. (SC-10, ST-14, OBC-A—18, OBC-B—09)


Qualification: Higher Secondary pass for the board of WBCHSE or its equivalent. Woking knowledge in computer is desirable.


Age: Within 18yrs to 45yrs (for SC/ST) and 18yrs to 43yrs (For OBC) as on 1-1-2012.


Salary: Rs.5400—Rs.25200 and Grade pay or Rs.2600.


Application Fee: OBC candidates should prepare Demand Draft of Rs.120 in favour of—“Secretary, Municipal Service Commission” and payable at—“Kolkata”. SC/ST candidates do not need to pay application fee.


Selection Steps: For selection of candidates there will be Preliminary Exam and Main Exam. Preliminary Exam will be of Multiple Choice, Objective Type on the following— General Knowledge, Current Affairs, General Science and Mathematics with total marks of 100 comprising 100 questions (Multiple Choice-Objective Type Questions) carrying 1 mark for each question. There will be no negative marking for any wrong.
Main Examination will be on English-50 marks, Bengali/Hindi/Urdu/Nepali-50 marks and Mathematics-50 marks (all conventional type questions) with total marks of 150.

2. Teacher (Urdu Medium)only candidates belonging to SC, ST, OBC and PH categories may apply for the post.

Female: Main Panel: 5 Nos. (SC-2, ST-1, OBC-B—1, PH-1); Supplementary Panel: 1 Nos. (OBC-A)


Qualification: Higher Secondary pass with minimum 50% marks in aggregate. Working knowledge in computer is preferable.
Age: Within 18yrs to 45yrs (for SC/ST) and 18yrs to 43yrs (For OBC) as on 1-1-2012.
Salary: Rs.5400—Rs.25200 and Grade Pay of Rs.2600

Selection Steps: Candidates will be selected through Preliminary Exam and Main Written Exam. In Preliminary Exam there will be of 100 (One hundred) questions carrying 1 (one) mark for each question.
There will be no negative marking for any wrong / incorrect answer. Qualifying marks for such preliminary examination will be 40 (forty) for candidates of all categories
Qualified candidates will be called for Main Exam which will be in 2 papers, i.e. Paper I & Paper II.       Paper I : Part A-Elementary Mathematics-50 marks and Part B-Urdu -50 marks. Paper II:  Part A-General Science, History & Geography-50 marks and Part B- English -50 marks. Duration of the Paper I & Paper II examinations will be two and a half hours each.

Last Date to submit application: Application can be sent by post or can be directly submitted at the box provided in the below office address during office hours. The application should reach within 7th February 2012 at the following address—“The Secretary, Municipal Service Commission, 149, A.J.C. Bose Road, Kolkata—700 014”.
