Department of Post – Karnataka Postal Circle is recruiting Meritorious Sportsperson for the posts of – Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, Postman and Multi Tasking Staff (MTS). Interested and eligible sportsperson may apply for the vacancies on prescribed application format (See below). Total vacancies—14 Nos. Educational qualification norms and brief details are given below —
Name of the Posts and Number of vacancies —
1. Postal Assistant: 07 Nos.
Qualification: Class 12 pass with English as a compulsory subject and shall have studied Kannada or Hindi as a subject at least in Matriculation or equivalent level. Candidates shall meet the sport qualification as mentioned below.
Typing knowledge and computer knowledge is desirable.
2. Sorting Assistant: 4 Nos.
Qualification: Class 12 pass with English as a compulsory subject and shall have studied Kannada or Hindi as a subject at least in Matriculation or equivalent level. Candidates shall meet the sport qualification as mentioned below.
Typing knowledge and computer knowledge is desirable.
3. Postman: 1 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation pass. Candidates shall meet the sport qualification as mentioned below.
4. Multi Tasking Staff: 2 Nos.
Qualification: Matriculation and Candidates shall meet the sport qualification as mentioned below.
Note: Candidates with higher qualification may also apply but no additional marks will be given for higher qualification.
Sports Qualification: Sportsmen shall have represented a State or the Country in the National or International competition in the below listed games/sports OR have represented their University or the state Schools team in the National Sports/ Games.
List of eligible games: (i) Football (Stopper back, Midfielder/ Forward, Forward/Midfielder), (ii) Volleyball (Setter, Attackers, Centre Blocker), (iii) Kabaddi (Right cover with ride, Left cover with ride, Right corner with ride) and (iv) Athletic (Sprinters, Middle Distance Runner).
Age Limit: Candidates shall be between 18yrs to 27yrs as on last date of application, i.e. 28/07/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Selection of candidates will be made on the educational and sports qualification and marks secured in the field trials and subject to fulfillment of other prescribed conditions (See PDF below).
Application Fee: Rs.100/- shall be paid in any Post Office in Karnataka Circle. Candidates residing outside Karnataka shall enclose an Indian Postal Order of Rs.100/- drawn in favour of the Chief Postmaster General, Karnataka Circle, Bangalore- 560001. See PDF below for details.
How to Apply: Apply only on prescribed application format (See PDF below) along with attested copies of testimonials (Attestation shall be done by Gazetted Officer) in support of Qualification, Age, Sports qualification, Caste Certificate and Address.
Candidates must also enclose one self-addressed envelope (9×4) with affixed postal stamp of Rs.17/- (stamp of Rs.40/- for outstation candidates)
