Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL)— IISCO Steel Plant, Burnpur, as per Employment Notification No. 2011/4, is recruiting 507 persons for the non- executive posts in “Operator-cum-Technician (Trainee)”, and “Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee)” in discipline of – Mechanical, Electrical, Metallurgy, Electronics, Instrumentation, Chemical, Ceramics, Civil, Fitter, Welder, Draughtsman, Machinist, Turner, Crane Operation, Boiler Operation and Etc. Engineering Diploma and ITI candidates may apply. Details in brief is given below—
1. OPERATOR-CUM-TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE) GRADE S-3
No. vacancies: 280 Nos. (Gen-141; SC-64; ST-14; OBC-61). Out of total Ex-Serv- 28nos, PWD-8nos.

2. ATTENDANT-CUM-TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE) GRADE S-1
No. of vacancies: 194 Nos. (Gen-99; SC-44; ST-9; OBC-42). Out of total- Ex-Serv-19nos; PWD-5nos.

Required Qualification: Madhyamik pass candidates with ITI Trade Certificate in Fitter/ Welder/ Electrician/ Air conditioning / Refrigeration/ Electronics & Communication/ Draughtsman/ Machinist/ Turner trades.
3. ATTENDANT -CUM-TECHNICIAN (TRAINEE) (CRANE OPERATION) GRADE S-1
No. of vacancies: 20 Nos. (Gen-11; SC-4; ST-1; OBC-4). Out of them PWD-1nos and Ex-Serv.- 1nos.
Required Qualification: Madhyamik pass and must have done ITI. Desirable—1 year experience in Operation of EOT cranes of more than or equal to 100 Tonnes capacity.
4. OPERATOR-CUM-TECHNICIAN (Boiler Operation) GRADE S-3
No. of vacancies: 13 Nos. (Gen-6; SC-2; ST-1; OBC-4). Out of them Ex-Serv-1nos; PWD-1nos.
Required Qualification: Diploma in Engineering with 2nd class or 1st class Certificate of Boiler Competnecy.
Age limit: For Operator-cum-Technician (Boiler Operation)— maximum 30yrs and for rest of others—maximum 28yrs as on 1/3/2012. Age relaxation is 5 yrs for SC/ST, 3 yrs for OBC, 10yrs for PWD and for Ex-Serv. and others- as per norms.
Training period will be of 2 years and during the training period the monthly pay will be—
For Operator-cum-Technician: Rs.8250 in first year and Rs.9350 in second year. After completion of training period, pay scale will be Rs.9160—Rs.13150 per month
For Attendant-cum-Technician: Rs.6600 in first year and Rs.7700 in second year. After completion of training period, pay scale will be Rs.8630—Rs.12080
Selection Steps: Selection will be through Written test, Interview and Medical Examination.
How to Apply: Apply online from the official website of SAIL — http://www.sail.co.in. Visit the website and click the link named ‘Careers with SAIL’ at bottom left.
Fill the Online application form and submit it. After submission a password will generate. Memorize the password and then print-out the Fee payment Challan. Now visit any branch of State Bank of India and deposit the prescribed fee.
After depositing the Application fee by Fee Challan, revisit the official website of SAIL. This time candidates will have to login in the website by mentioning their email id and password which have generated during making Part-I registration. Once login successfully, the candidates Application form will appear. Now fill the fee details and Submit again. This time right after submission, the Registration Slip with unique Registration No. will appear on the screen. Print-out the Registration Slip and keep safely for further use during recruitment process.
Candidates will have to upload their scan copy of passport size photographs and Signature during registration therefore they should keep it ready while making registration. For Operator-cum-Technician (BO) & Operator-cum-Technician(Trainee) Grade S3: Rs.250 (Rs.50 only for SC/ST/PWD candidates)
For Attendant-cum-Technician (Trainee) Grade- S1: Rs.150 (Rs.50 for SC/ST/PWD candidates).
There is no need to send any documents by post. All documents in original and attested copies will be required to produce during written test/interview.
Date and venue of written test will be informed to the candidates in due course through Call letters. Call letter/ Admit card will be also available on the website of SAIL for downloading.
Last Date: Online Application can be made on and within 21st June 2012. No other mode of application will be accepted.
