Educational Qualification: Degree of a recognized University.

Candidates must have ability to read, write and speak in Bengali (not required for those candidates whose mother tongue is Nepali)

 

Physical Standard for vacancies in WB Police Service (Gr-B): The minimum height requirement is 1.65 metres for male candidates and 1.50 metres for female candidates subject to relaxation in the case of candidates belonging to races such as Gorkhas, Garwalis, Assamese Tribals etc.

 

Age Limit: Minimum-21 years and maximum-32 years as on 01/01/2017

 

Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.

 

Note: SC/ST/BC Candidates of other states will be treated as General Candidates

 

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Preliminary Examination, Main Examination and Personality Test. Preliminary Examination will be held at Kolkata, Baruipur, Diamond Harbour, Barrackpore, Barasat, Howrah, Burdwan, Asansol, Medinipur, Tamluk, Bankura, Berhampore, Malda, Jalpaiguri, Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Siliguri and Darjeeling on 29/01/2017.

 

Candidate must have good health and character and suitability in all respects for appointment to Government service.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs.210/- as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ST/PWD CANDIDATES OF WEST BENGAL CANDIDATES.

 

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of Public Service Commission, West Bengal (WBPSC) — www.pscwbonline.gov.in (See Application form’s link given below) from dated 04/11/2016 to 28/11/2016

Candidates have to first go for “One Time Registration” (link available on top of the left panel in home page of the website www.pscwbonline.gov.in) and fill up all the required data and uploading scanned photo and signature to get User ID and Password. However, those candidates who have earlier registered themselves with PSC, West Bengal need not register once again. They can use their previous User Id and Password for login into their respective Dashboards.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/ HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
