Railway Recruitment Boards (RRB) as per Centralised Employment Notice No. 03/2012, is recruiting 6829 persons for the post of — Commercial Apprentice, Traffic Apprentice, ECRC, Goods Guard, Jr. Accounts Assistant cum Typist, Sr. Clerk cum Typist, Assistant Station Master and Traffic Assistant. Application is to be made for any one of participating RRB. Brief details given below—
Name of Post and No. of vacancies (including all participating RRB)—
1. Commercial Apprentice: 317 Nos. (Gen-141; SC-56; ST-31; OBC-81). Out of them Ex-Serv- 28 and PWD- 15nos.
Qualification: Degree in any discipline.
Diploma in Rail Transport and Management from the Institute of Rail Transport will be an additional desirable qualification.
Pay Band: Rs.9300—Rs.34800 and Grade Pay—Rs.4200
2. Traffic Apprentice: 740 Nos. (Gen- 372; SC-126; ST-61; OBC-181). Out of them Ex-Serv- 63nos. and PWD—nil
Qualification: Same as above post.
Pay Band: Same as above.
3. ECRC: 114 Nos. (Gen-30; SC-20; ST-22; OBC-17). Out of them Ex-Serv—7nos. and PWD- 31nos.
Qualification: Degree in any discipline.
Pay band: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade pay—Rs.2800
4. Goods Guard: 1768 Nos. (Gen-818; SC-319; ST-196; OBC-435). Out of them Ex-Serv—169nos. and PWD—nil
Qualification: Degree in any discipline.
Pay Band: same as above
5. Jr. Accounts Assistant cum Typist: 791 Nos. (Gen-289; SC-112; ST-172; OBC-171). Out of them Ex-Serviceman- 72nos and PWD- 70nos.
Qualification: Degree in any discipline and Typing ability in English/ Hindi on Computer or Typewriter.
Preference will be given to those who have Ist and IInd Divisions Honours & Master Degree.
Pay Band: same as above.
6. Senior Clerk cum Typist: 441 Nos. (Gen-87; SC-79; ST-67; OBC-86). Out of them Ex-Serv- 31 and PWD- 159nos.
Qualification: Degree in any discipline and ability to type in English/ Hindi on Computer or Typewriter.
Pay Band: Same as above.
7. Assistant Station Master: 2646 Nos. (Gen-1280; SC-502; ST-285; OBC-579). Out of them Ex-Serv.-255nos and PWD- nil
Qualification: Degree in any discipline.
Diploma in Rail Transport & Management, Transport Economics, Multimodal Transport (Containerization ) awarded by Institute of Rail Transport, Rail Bhawan, New Delhi will be additional desirable qualification
Pay Band: same as above.
8. Traffic Assistant: 12 Nos. (OBC-12). Out of them Ex-Serv—4nos.
Qualification: Degree in any discipline.
Diploma in Rail Transport & Management, Transport Economics, Multimodal Transport (Containerization ) awarded by Institute of Rail Transport, Rail Bhawan, New Delhi will be additional desirable qualification
Pay Band: Rs.5200—Rs.20200 and Grade Pay—Rs.2000.

Selection Steps: Selection will be made through written examination. Preliminary Examination will be held first. Preliminary Examination will be held on the same day by all participating RRBs. Qualified candidates from preliminary examination will be only called for Main Written Test.
Finally there will be medical examination for fitness test.
Examination Fee: Fee of Rs.60 (for General and OBC candidates) is to be paid. No fee required for SC/ST/ /Ex-Servicemen /Physically Handicapped/Women /Minorities / Economically backward classes candidates having annual family income less than Rs. 50,000/-
Examination fee is to paid in form of Crossed Demand Draft or IPO in favour of – ‘Assistant Secretary or Secretary or Member Secretary or Chairman, Railway Recruitment Board’ of concerned RRB.

How to Apply: Application form is to be made on prescribed application format which should be filled up by the candidates in his/her own handwriting with blue or black pen. Fill the application in English or Hindi only. The candidate’s Name, Address with Pin Code, Date of Birth, Father’s Name, Mother’s Name and nearest Railway Station should be written legibly in English in bold capital letters, even if the candidate fills up the Application Form in Hindi.
Candidates should enclose all requisite documents along with application form. For details, refer the officially released Centralised Employment Notice No. 03/2012.
The envelope containing the application should be clearly super-scribed “Application for the Preliminary Examination for the notified categories of CEN No 03/2012 of RRB—– & Community (SC/ST/OBC/PWD/Ex-SM)”
Online Application Form: Some participating RRB has also made arrangement for candidates to apply online. If so then candidates can also opt to submit online application instead of applying by post.
Candidates may apply in more than one participating RRB but remember that the Examination in all participating RRB may hold on same date and day.
Last Date: Application form should reach within or on 11th June 2012 by Ordinary Post at the address of Concerned Railway Recruitment Board (RRBs).
For candidates residing in Assam, Meghalaya, Manipur, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, Sikkim, Jammu & Kashmir, Lahaul & Spiti districts and Pangi sub-division of Chamba district of Himachal Pradesh, Andaman, Nicobar and Lakshwadeep islands and for candidates residing abroad, the closing date for receipt of applications by posts will be 26.06.2012

the railway recruit only reserved categories no favour to general they also need jobs so ur vacancy post must be more than the reserved categories. if not then you must say no post for general and take only backward class and develop your country.
Minimum Educational Qualification & Examination Fee for Preliminary Exam
are same for all post.
But Pay Band & Grade Pay are not same for all post.
Category No. 1 & 2 has higher Pay Band & Grade Pay compare to other category i.e. Category No. 3 to 8.
Why?
Minimum Educational Qualification for applying any post of this notification is Degree from recognized University or its equivalent.
But the Pay Band & Grade Pay in Rs. is not same for all the post of this notification.For Category No. 1 & 2, Pay Band:9300-34800, Grade Pay:4200.
And for other post (Category No.3 to 8) Pay Band: 5200-20200, Grade Pay: 2800.
Why?????
in cat no.3,post: ECRC,for rrb Kolkata, ER (eastern rail) 2 times mentioned? which one is correct? first or second? what is the actual vacancy for UR in this post in ER? if first one is ER, then what is the second one? is it MR for Metro Railway?
Both is Eastern Railway. First one is for all categories (such as general, OBC, SC and ST)in Eastern Railway and Second one is reserved only for Physical Handicapped candidates in Eastern Railway.
In Eastern Railway for Kolkata RRB, The actual vacancy for UR is – 5 posts.
