MEDICAL OFFICER (ASSISTANT COMMANDANT)
Number of Vacancies: 372 Nos.
CAPFs wise vacancies: BSF – 85posts; CRPF – 87posts; SSB – 60posts; ITBP – 116 posts; Assam Rifles – 24 posts.
Qualification: Recognized Medical qualification of allopathic system of medicines and should have completed or undergoing compulsory rotating internship.
The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/MCI before appointment in any of the CAPFs.
Age Limit: Maximum 30 years as on last date of receipt of application.
Pay Scale: Rs 15,600 – 39,100/- plus Grade pay Rs.5,400/- plus other allowances as per norms.
SPECIALIST MEDICAL OFFICER (DEPUTY COMMANDANT)
Number of Vacancies: 22 Nos.
Field of Speciality – Medicine – 37 posts, Surgery-35posts, Gynae & Obs-26 posts, Anesthetist- 28posts, Radiologist – 39posts, Pathologist- 31posts, Eye- 18posts, Psychiatry-02posts, Orthopaedics- 04posts.
CAPFs wise vacancies: BSF – 61 posts; CRPF – 122 posts; SSB – 20 posts; ITBP – 11 posts; Assam Rifles – 06 posts.
Qualification: A recognized medical qualification of allopathic system of medicines and should have completed compulsory rotating internship.
The applicant must have permanent registration from any State Medical Council/MCI before appointment in any of the CAPFs.
A Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in the concerned specialty mentioned above or equivalent and one & half years experience in the concerned specialty after obtaining post graduate degree or two and half years experience after obtaining post graduate diploma.
Age Limit: Maximum 40 years as on last date of receipt of application.
Pay Scale: Rs.5,600 – 39,100/- plus Grade pay Rs.6600/-
Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, 3 years for OBC & as per Govt. norms for Ex-Servicemen & others
Physical Standards for candidates willing to apply for any above posts.
(i) Male Candidates: Height – 157.5cms; Chest (unexpanded/expanded) – 77cms/ 82cms; Weight – Proportionate to height and age.
(ii) Female Candidates: Height – 142 cms; Chest – Not applicable; Weight – Proportionate to height and age.
Relaxable in Height – Relaxable by 3 Cms for candidates belonging to Scheduled Tribes and by 3 cms for candidates falling in the categories of Gorkhas, Garhwalis, Kumaonis, Dogras, Marathas and candidates belonging to the States of Sikkim, Nagaland, Arunanchal Pradesh, Manipur, Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Assam, Himachal Pradesh, Kashmir and Leh&Ladakh regions of J&K.
Eyesight: 6/6 and 6/12 with better and worse eye in Distant vision or 6/9 with better & worse eye in Distant vision.
Candidates must not have knock knee, flat foot, varicose vein or squint in eyes and should possess high color vision. They must be in good mental and bodily health and free from any physical defect likely to interfere with the efficient performance of the duties
Candidates’ Selection: Eligible candidates will be called for interview by a Board of Officers at designated centres to assess their suitability for appointment in CAPFs. The candidates who attain the minimum prescribed standard for selection in the
Interview will be required to undergo Medical Examination by the Board of CAPFs’ Medical Officers constituted by Medical Officers Selection Board on a day following the date of interview.
