State Bank of India – Recruitment of 5400 Assistant in Clerical Cadre in SBI. Last Dt. 14/06/2014

State Bank of India (SBI), Clerical Recruitment and Promotional Department, is recruiting 5400 boys and girls for the post of “Assistant” in Clerical Cadre in State Bank of India. Advertisement No. CRPD/CR/2014-15/02. Interested and eligible candidates may submit their application through online mode application system from the official website of the bank. Educational qualification norms and other criteria in brief details are given below —

ASSISTANT in Clerical Cadre 
Number of Vacancies: 5400 (including Backlog vacancies for PWD)

Category wise vacancies: General—2690; SC—760; ST—463; OBC—1179. Out of them 152 reserved for PWD candidates and 738 for Ex-Servicemen.
Backlog vacancies for PWD candidates — 201 Nos.

Special Recruitment Drive for candidates from Kashmir Valley/ Ladakh: Total vacancies—107 Nos.

No. of Vacancies for State West Bengal alone is 252 Nos. (Gen—126; SC—58; ST—13; OBC—55). Out of which 8 seats reserved for PWD and 36 reserved for Ex-Servicemen & Dependant of Ex-Servicemen. Backlog vacancies for PWD is 13 Nos.

Educational Qualification (As on 31.08.2014): Degree (Graduate level) or equivalent from recognized University.
Candidates appearing final year or awaiting result may also apply, however such candidates will have to produce proof of having passed the Graduation Examination on or before 31.08.2014 if called for Interview.
Candidates shall be able to write and speak English. Knowledge of local language will be an added qualification.

Candidates applying for the State of Jammu & Kashmir (Kashmir valley/Ladakh) must have the knowledge (read and speak) of Kashmiri or Urdu language which would be tested during the course of interview

Age as on 01.05.2014: Minimum 20 and maximum 28 years, i.e. born between 02.05.1986 and 01.05.1994 (both days inclusive). Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Pay Scale: Rs.7200—19300/- plus other allowances as per norms.

Candidates’ Selection: Selection of the candidates will be through Online Test and Interview. The test will be online objective type, consisting of (i) General Awareness (ii) General English (iii) Quantitative Aptitude (iv) Reasoning Ability (v) Marketing Aptitude / Computer Knowledge.
The questions in objective tests, except for the test of General English, will be bilingual i.e., English & Hindi. Each test will be of 40 marks.For these objective type tests of total 200 marks candidates will be given a composite time of 2 Hours 15 minutes
There will be negative marks for wrong answers in the Objective tests
Candidates who will qualify the Online Test will be called for Interview.

Recruitment Examination will be conducted online tentatively in July/August 2014 on various dates. Candidates shall regularly visit the bank website (See URL below) for notification.

How to Apply: Interested and eligible candidates may apply online only through the official website of the bank — www.statebankofindia.com or www.sbi.co.in (See live URL below) from dated 26/05/2014 to 14/06/2014. 
During online application candidates will also require to upload their scan image of passport size photograph and signature.

Application Fee: Rs.450/- for General and OBC candidates and Rs.100/- for SC/ST/PWD and Ex-Serviceman.
Fee is to be paid through any branches of SBI by means of Fee Payment Challan, which will be generated automatically upon submission of online application. Candidates may also pay the Application Fee through online mode, i.e. through Net Banking or Debit/Credit Card. See the released advt. in PDF given below for more details.

Upon successful submission of Online Application form, the system generated Registration Slip with unique Registration Number and password will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it on plain paper and shall retain the same safely for future correspondence. Do not send any hard copy application or print-outs to the bank.
