Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is going to conduct Combined Medical Service Examination—2012 for the recruitment purpose of approximately 702 posts as “Medical Officers” in departments of – Railways, Indian Ordnance Factories, Central Health Services, Municipal Corporation of Delhi and New Delhi Municipal Council. Online application can be submitted till 23-04-2012. Examination Notice No. 07/2012-CMS. Details below—

Name of the posts, No. of vacancies and Departments where services/ posts will be made were as follows—
RAILWAYS:-
Post:  Assistant Divisional Medical Officer
No. of posts: 250 Nos. Out of total, 7 posts are reserved for Physical Handicapped candidates.

INDIAN ORDNANCE FACTORIES HEALTH SERVICE:-
Post: Assistant Medical Officer
No. of posts: 66 Nos. Out of total, 1 post is reserved for Physical Handicapped candidates.

CENTRAL HEALTH SERVICE
Post: Junior Scale posts
No. of posts: 150 Nos. Out of total, 5 posts are reserved for Physical Handicapped candidates.

MUNICIPAL CORPORATION OF DELHI
Post: Medical Officers
No. of posts: 204 Nos. Out of total, 13 posts are reserved for Physical Handicapped candidates.

NEW DELHI MUICIPAL COUNCIL
Post: General Duty Medical Officer
No. of posts: 32 Nos.

N.B: Reservation of posts for SC/ST and OBC candidates will be as per govt. norms.

Qualification: Candidates should have passed MBBS examination. Candidates who will appear final examination of MBBS may also apply but in such case, they should have to produce certificate/Marksheet/proof during the result of the written part of the examination conducted by UPSC.
Candidates who are yet to complete the rotating internship may apply for the examination but job will be awarded to him/her only after completing the rotating internship.
Candidates should be physical and medically fit as per terms laid by the commission.

Age limit: Candidates should be within 32yrs as on 1/1/2012, i.e. date of birth should be on and after 2nd Jan-1980. Age relaxation—OBC- 3yrs; SC/ST-5yrs; PH-10yrs and for others—as per norms.

Examination fee: Candidates have to pay Examination fee of Rs.100 in cash through any branch of State Bank of India. Willing candidates can pay fee through online system by their Credit or Debit card.
SC/ST/PH and Female candidates do not require to pay examination fee.

More information and details can be found on the above mentioned site. During registration, candidates should mention their valid email id and should fill every detail carefully. After submitting the form, make print-out copy for further reference. There is no need to send any documents by post. All the required documents in attested copies should be produce during declaration of result of written examination. The result is likely to be declared on Sept/ Oct.
Before three weeks of Written Examination; candidates will be issued e-Admission Certificate which can be downloaded from the official site. Without this certificate, candidates will not be allowed to site in examination.

Candidates will be selected through Written Examination and Personality Test. Written Test will be in 2 papers. Each paper will carry full marks of 250. Questions will be Objective Types and there will be negative marking for wrong answers. Personality Test will be of 100 marks.
