UPSC — Forest Service Examination-2014 for 85 (Tentative) vacancies. Last Dt. 30/06/2014

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting online application for Forest Service Examination-2014. Examination Notice No.10/2014-IFoS.  The selection to Indian Forest Services (Main) Examination will be through Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination,2014. i.e. Candidates willing to sit for Main Examination of Forest Service or Civil Service will have appear for Civil Service (Preliminary) Examination (See PDF below for details). Qualification norms and brief details are given below —

FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION-2014.
Number of vacancies to be filled through this examination is approximately 85 Nos. (Tentative). Reservation for SC/ST/OBC/PH will be as per Govt. norms. 

GOVT. HAS CHANGED THE PATTERN OF INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION FROM THE YEAR 2013 BY INTRODUCING A COMPONENT OF SCREENING MECHANISM THROUGH CIVIL SERVICES (PRELIMINARY) EXAMINATION.

ALL THE CANDIDATES APPLYING FOR INDIAN FOREST SERVICE EXAMINATION ARE THERFORE REQUIRED TO APPEAR IN THE CIVIL SERVICES (PRELIMINARY) EXAMINATON AND QUALIFY THE SAME FOR GOING TO THE SECOND STAGE OF INDIAN FOREST SERVICE (MAIN) EXAMINATION (WRITTEN AND INTERVIEW).

Candidates willing to apply for Indian Forest Service Examination as well as for the Civil Services Examination can apply through a common Online Application form subject to their eligibility criteria.

Eligibility/ Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree with at least one of the following subjects —Animal Husbandry & Veterinary Science, Botany, Chemistry, Geology, Mathematics, Physics, Statistics and Zoology
OR
Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture, Forestry or in Engineering.
Candidates awaiting result of their final examination may also apply. Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Forest Service Examination, 2014 (See PDF file given below)

Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 32 years on 1st August, 2014, i.e. he must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1982 and not later than 1st August, 1993.
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Applications are now invited for the Preliminary Examination only. Candidates who will qualify the examination will sit for Indian Forest Service (Main) Examination and for which they will have to apply again when announced.
Paper will be Objective Type Question and there will be negative marking for wrong answer. For examination details, please see the below given PDF file which is an officially released advertisement.
The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the UPSC website [www.upsc.gov.in] for downloading by candidates. No Admission Certificate will be sent by post.
Preliminary Examination is scheduled to hold on 24th August, 2014.

Examination Fee: Rs.100/- is to be paid through any branches of SBI by cash or can be paid through Net Banking. For cash deposit use Fee payment Challan which will be generated automatically upon submission of online application form. Refer the advt. for details.
NO FEE FOR SC/ST/ PH AND ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES.

While filling in his/her Application Form, the candidate should carefully decide about his/her choice of centre for the Examination.

After successful submission of Part-I and Part-II of Online Application form, the system generated Registration Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it and shall retain it safely for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY HARD COPY OF APPLICATION TO THE COMMISSION AT THIS STAGE.
