Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) is inviting application for Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination 2015 for selection of candidates as “Special Class Apprentices” in Mechanical Department of Indian Railways. The examination will be hold on 18 Jan,2015. Examination Notice No.01/2015 – SCRA. Interested and eligible candidates may apply online (See URL below). Number of Vacancies: 42 Nos. [Out of total 1 vacancy is reserved for PH candidate (OA/ OL)]. Reservation of vacancies for SC/ST, OBC and Others will be as fixed by the Government.
Educational Qualification:
Intermediate with first or second division with Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry as a subject and have done Graduates with Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry as their degree subjects.
OR
Higher Secondary (10+2) with first/ second division with Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry as subjects.
OR
Passed first year of degree course with Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry as subjects of the examination provided that he/she has acquired first or second division in their Higher Secondary Examination.
Candidates who passed first/second year examination of their degree course (3yrs duration) and have obtained first or second division with Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry as subjects, may also apply.
OR
Candidates must have passed the Pre-Engineering Examination of a University with first or second division.
OR
Candidates must have passed and obtained first or second division in the Pre-Professional/ Pre-Technological Examination of any Indian University with Mathematics and Physics/ Chemistry as subjects of the examination, conducted one year after the Higher Secondary or Pre-University stage.
OR
Candidates must have passed first year examination of their Engineering degree course (5yrs duration) provided that he/she passed the Higher Secondary Examination/Equivalent in the first or second division.
Candidates who have passed their first year examination of their Engineering Degree course (5yrs duration) in the first or second division may also apply.
OR
Candidates must have passed and obtained first or second division in the Pre-Degree Examination of the Universities of Kerala and Calicut with Mathematics and Physics/Chemistry as subjects of the Examination.

Age Limit: A candidate must have attained the age of 17 and must not have attained the age of 21 years as on 01-01-2015.
Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Domicile of J&K – 05yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.
Special Class Railway Apprentices Examination 2015 will be conducted by UPSC on 18th January, 2015. Candidates who will qualify the examination will be further called Personality Test.
The qualified candidates will be appointed as Special Class Apprentices in Mechanical Engineering Department of Indian Railways.

Application Fee: Rs.100/- is to be paid either by depositing the money in cash by means of Fee payment Challan through any branches of SBI or SBI associates bank or fee can be paid by using Net banking/ using Debit/Credit card during submission of online application form.
