The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) is recruiting 291 candidates for the posts of – Trainee Operator/ Technician, Asst. Sub-Inspector, Nurse-cum-Midwife, Security Officer, Stenographer, Medical Officer, Asst. Teacher, Asst. Manager (Legal/ IT), Radiographer, Pharmacist, Lab Technician and Librarian, for its Corporate Office and Power Stations/ Projects located at different places across West Bengal. Employment Notification No.: WBPDCL/Recruitment/2013_02. Qualification norms and eligibility criteria in brief is as follows —

1. TRAINEE OPERATOR/ TECHNICIAN
Number of Vacancies: 175 Nos. (Fitter—88 and Electrician—87)
— Fitter – 88 Nos.  {SC – 20 ; OBC (A) – 09 ; OBC (B) – 06 ; ST – 05 ; UR – 43 ; PWD – 03 ; MSP – 02}
— Electrician – 87 Nos.  {SC – 19 ; OBC (A) – 08 ; OBC (B) – 07 ; ST – 06 ; UR – 42 ; PWD – 03 ; MSP – 02}

Qualification: At least 50% marks in Madhyamik or equivalent examination and Trade Certificate (ITI) in the trade of Fitter / Electrician (2yrs duration) respectively.
Part time courses / courses undertaken through Distance mode / sandwich courses shall not be considered
Students appeared in the finaly year examination and awaiting results are also eligible to apply. 

Age Limit: Maximum 26yrs.

Stipend of  Rs. 7500/- per month during 01(One) year traineeship. On absorption to be placed in Pay Band of  Rs.6300 – Rs.20200 with Grade Pay of  Rs.2600.

2. ASSISTANT SUB-INSPECTOR (SECURITY)
Number of Vacancies: 36 Nos.  {SC – 09 ; ST – 02 ; OBC (A) – 03 ; OBC (B) – 03 ; UR – 17 ; PWD – 01 ; MSP -01}

Qualification: Higher Secondary or equivalent examination with at least 5 (five) years service in Defense / Para-Military service. Experience in Industrial Security in a responsible position at any organisation of repute will be preferred.

Age Limit: Maximum 35yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.6300—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2600/-

3. NURSE CUM MIDWIFE
Number of Vacancies: 09 Nos. { SC – 04 ; ST – 01 ; OBC (A) – 02 ; OBC (B) – 01 ; PWD – 01}

Qualification: Higher Secondary or equivalent and having Diploma in General Nursing & Midwifery and having registration with the West Bengal Nursing Council.
One year of working experience in OT and inpatient department will be preferred.

Age Limit: Maximum 30yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.6300—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.2600/-

4. SECURITY OFFICER 
Number of Vacancies: 5 Nos. (SC—1; ST—1; Gen—1)

Qualification: Graduate in any discipline with at least 5 yrs service in Defense / Para Military service / Short Service Commission not below the rank of Lieutenant / Assistant Commandant.
Experience in Industrial security in a responsible position at any organization of repute will be preferred.

Age Limit: Maximum 35yrs

Pay Scale: Rs.15600—39100 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-

5. STENOGRAPHER
Number of Vacancies: 15 Nos. { SC- 04 ; ST – 01 ; OBC (A) – 02 ; OBC (B) – 01 ; UR – 06 ; PWD – 01}

Qualification: Graduate in any discipline from any institution / university with at least 50 % marks, having proficiency in English language.
Candidates must know the operations of MS Office and must have minimum speed of 100 words per minute in shorthand with Computer key depression speed of at least 8000 per hour. Knowledge of typing in Bengali font will be considered as an added qualification
Graduation through Distance Educational mode will not be entertained.

Age Limit: Maximum 30yrs

Pay Scale: Rs.6300—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.3600/-

6. MEDICAL OFFICER 
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (ST—1; OBC-A—1)

Qualification: MBBS having completed one year internship.
Preference shall be given to candidates having 01(one) year experience of House Staff ship in Medicine / Cardiology / Pediatrics / Child Care.

Age Limit: Maximum 35yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600—39100 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-

7. ASSISTANT TEACHER 
Number of Vacancies: 19 Nos.

Subject wise vacancies — Bengali – 01 (ST) ; Sanskrit – 01 (ST) ; Mathematics – 03 (SC-01; MSP -01;UR – 01) ; Chemistry – 03 (UR-02;SC-01) ; Bio Science – 03 (SC-01;UR-01;OBC(A)-01) ; Physics – 04 (UR-02; PWD-01;ST-01) ; Political Science – 01 (OBC(A)- 01) ; Economics – 01 (UR-01) ; Education – 01 (SC-01) ; Philosophy – 01 (UR-01)

Qualification: Honours graduate in respective discipline / subject with at least 50% marks in Honours subject at graduate level AND Degree in Bachelor’s of Education (B.Ed)
Candidates applying as post graduates must have also secured 50% at Post graduate level in the respective discipline. See the below Advt. link for details.
Degree with Distance Education Mode will not be entertained.

Age Limit: Maximum 30yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.9000—40500 AND Grade pay of Rs.4800 in case of PG candidates and Rs.4700 in case of Honours Graduate candidates

8. ASSISTANT MANAGER (LEGAL)
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (SC)

Qualification: 5 years integrated degree in Law / Graduate with LLB having 2 yrs post qualification experience or more as legal practitioner or as an officer in a large reputed Industry / institute / legal firm / commercial house etc. in handling labour / industrial / civil / criminal / taxation / service matter and dealing / drafting contract matters or in judicial service.

Age Limit: Maximum 33yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.15600—39100 and Grade Pay: Rs.5400/-

9. RADIOGRAPHER 
Number of Vacancies: 3 Nos. (SC—1; Gen—2)

Qualification: Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology from WBHSE or equivalent with 2 years Diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) / DRD (Tech.) OR Postgraduate diploma in Radiography (Diagnostics) / DRD (Tech.).
Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.

Age Limit: Maximum 30yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.6300—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.3600/-

10. PHARMACIST
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (SC)

Qualification: Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent and 2 year diploma course in Pharmacy
Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.

Age Limit: Maximum 30yrs.

11. LABORATORY TECHNICIAN
Number of Vacancies: 2 Nos. (SC—1; Gen—1)

Qualification: Higher Secondary with Physics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent and 2 year diploma course in Laboratory technology with 1 year Diploma course in Laboratory Technology
Preference will be given to candidates having 01 (one) year experience in any Hospital or in a clinical establishment.

Age Limit: Maximum 30yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.6300—20200 and Grade Pay: Rs.3600/-

12. LIBRARIAN
Number of Vacancies: 1 Nos. (Gen)

Qualification: Graduate with Degree / Diploma in Library Science

Age Limit: maximum 30yrs.

Pay Scale: Rs.7100—37600 and Grade Pay: Rs.3900/-

Upper age relaxation: Age limits mentioned above along with the vacancies details, will be counted as on dated – 01.04.2013. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; PWD- 10yrs; Ex-Serviceman and Others – As per norms.

Selection of the candidates will be through Written Test, Personal Interview/Group Discussion, as applicable, and Medical Fitness test. Written Test will be held in KOLKATA only.
