Candidates who have been awarded Ph.D. degree in accordance with UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedure for Award of M.Phil/Ph.D.) Regulations, 2009 or 2016 and subsequent amendments, shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET provided they fulfill the following conditions:
- (a) Ph.D. was awarded through regular mode
- (b) Ph.D. thesis was evaluated by at least two external examiners
- (c) An open viva voce was conducted
- (d) Candidate has published two research papers from Ph.D. work, at least one in a refereed journal
- (e) Candidate has presented at least two papers in conferences/seminars sponsored/funded by UGC/AICTE/ICSSR/CSIR
