UPPSC PCS 2025 Mains Result: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has declared the result of the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services (Main) Examination 2025. The result was announced through a press note issued from the Commission’s Prayagraj office on 17 September 2026 under notice number 01/02/C-1/P.C.S.-2025/2025-26.

How Many Candidates Appeared and How Many Cleared
The Mains examination was conducted by the Commission from 29 March to 1 April 2026 at various centres in Prayagraj and Lucknow, and 10,284 candidates sat for it. With 2,297 candidates now through to the interview round, the Mains success rate works out to roughly 22 per cent.
Against the 812 vacancies to be filled through the interview route, the ratio of shortlisted candidates to posts is close to 1:2.8.
Of the 814 total vacancies notified across 28 categories of posts, two vacancies belonging to one category are to be filled on the basis of the written examination alone, without an interview. The result for that post will not appear in the present list; it will be declared along with the final selection result.
The interview list of 2,297 candidates therefore corresponds to the remaining 812 vacancies.

Important Conditions Attached to the Result
The Commission has attached two legal conditions to this result, and candidates should read them carefully.
Writ Petition No. 4253 of 2026: The result of the petitioner in the matter of Archit Shivam Mishra vs State of U.P. and others will remain subject to the final decision of the Hon’ble High Court.
Special Appeal No. 475 (D) of 2019: The result of female candidates from outside Uttar Pradesh will remain subject to the final judgment of the Hon’ble High Court in the special appeal filed by the State Government.
Marks and Cut-Off Will Not Be Released Now
Candidates looking for their Mains marks or the category-wise cut-off will have to wait. The Commission has stated clearly that marks and cut-off details will be published only after the final selection result is declared. It has also asked candidates not to file applications under the Right to Information Act, 2005 seeking these details at this stage.
