RRC SR Scouts & Guides Eligibility Criteria 2026-27
Candidates must meet the scouting qualifications, educational qualifications and age limits given below.
Scouting Qualifications
Candidates must fulfil all three of the following conditions.

| (b) Active Membership | Active member of a Scouts organisation for the last 5 years, i.e. during 2021-22, 2022-23, 2023-24, 2024-25 and 2025-26, and continuing to be active during 2026-27. The Certificate of Activeness must be in the Annexure-A format |
| (c) Events Attended | Attended two events at National level or All India Railway level and two events at State level. Details must be given in the Annexure-B format |
As per Railway Board’s letter dated 10.04.2024, candidates holding a provisional certificate of President’s Scout/Guide/Rover/Ranger or HWB will be provisionally allowed to take part in the selection process. However, their empanelment and appointment will be regulated as per the Board’s instructions dated 07.02.2000.

What is the RRC SR Scouts & Guides Selection Process 2026-27?
Candidates will be assessed out of 100 marks in two parts: a Written Test / Hybrid (CBT-cum-Physical) Exam of 60 marks, and marks on scouting certificates worth 40 marks. This will be followed by document verification and a medical examination.

RRC SR Scouts & Guides Syllabus 2026-27
The syllabus is the same for Level-1 and Level-2 posts. It covers the history of Scouting/Guiding, Law & Promise, and organisation at District and State level. Other topics include training centres, knowledge of books, Scouting for Boys and Guiding for Girls in India, the motto, left-hand shake, salute, prayer, flag song, National Anthem, and the National and Scouting flags.
The syllabus also covers social services during various occasions, hiking, proficiency badges and how they are earned, stages in Scouting/Guiding, Thinking Day, progressive training of Scouts/Guides/Rovers/Rangers, and pioneering. Handicrafts, the Indian Railway Jamborette, National Jamboree, Jamboree on the Air, organisation at the National level, National Training Centres, WAGGGS/WOSM, the Rashtrapati Award competition, Prime Minister Shield competition, community development programmes, the aims and methods of Scouting, and how Scouting helps produce better citizens are also included.
