AIIMS Jammu Faculty Eligibility Criteria 2026
Educational Qualification
- Assistant Professor (clinical/broad specialty): MBBS plus MD/MS in the subject of the post, recognised by the NMC, with 3 years of teaching experience after the qualifying degree.
- Assistant Professor (super specialty – Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, Neonatology, Pulmonary Medicine, Urology, Surgical Oncology, Pediatric Surgery, Burns & Plastic Surgery): MBBS plus DM/MCh. 1 year of teaching experience is needed for 2- or 5-year courses; none for 3- or 6-year courses.
- Non-medical candidates (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pharmacology, Physiology): Master’s degree in the subject plus a Doctorate, with 3 years of teaching/research experience after the Doctorate.
- Professor, Additional Professor and Associate Professor: Same qualification as the Assistant Professor post of the same discipline, plus the experience below.

DNB holders must meet the NMC equivalence rules (notification dated 14.02.2022). Those trained in hospitals under 500 beds need one extra year of senior residency.

Selection is based on performance in the interview. AIIMS Jammu may also hold a written test or screening on objective criteria to shortlist candidates.
