WB Police Driver Salary 2026
Selected Drivers will get a consolidated remuneration of ₹16,000 per month (Rupees Sixteen Thousand), subject to statutory deductions as per Government norms.
Terms of Engagement
- The job is purely temporary and contractual for 1 year from the date of signing the contract.
- Renewal depends on satisfactory performance.
- Contractual Drivers cannot be absorbed into, or claim appointment to, the regular Government establishment.
- No claim for regularisation will be entertained in future.
- The authority can cancel the recruitment process at any stage without notice.
WB Police Driver Selection Process 2026
- Shortlisting: If applications are very high, candidates are shortlisted on educational qualification and driving experience.
- Driving Test & Interview: Shortlisted candidates take a driving test and interview. A merit list is prepared from the marks.
- Medical Examination: Provisionally selected candidates must pass a medical fitness test.
- Character Verification: Selected candidates must submit a Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) or undergo verification at the time of joining.

For the SSF Battalion, the medical test will be held at Brigade Hospital, and the PCC must be obtained from the WB Police PCC portal (pcc.wb.gov.in). Shortlisted SSF candidates will be informed by SMS or phone call.
Merit lists will be published on wbpolice.gov.in and on the notice board of each unit. Sealdah GRP will publish its list on sealdahgrp.wb.gov.in. No TA/DA is paid for the driving test or interview.

- Put everything in an envelope with the superscription required by your unit (see table).
- Submit it in the unit’s drop box or send it by Speed Post (SSF Battalion accepts hand delivery only) within 14 days of the notice’s publication.
