Category- I (Posts in the Geological Survey of India, Ministry of Mines)
i) Geologist, Group A: 50 posts
ii) Geophysicist, Group A: 14 posts
iii) Chemist, Group A: 15 posts
Category- II (Posts in the Central Ground Water Board, Ministry of Water Resources)
i) Junior Hydrogeologists (Scientist B), Group A: 27 posts
Educational Qualification: Master’s degree in respective subject. For more details please see the Official Advt.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and below 32 years (below 35 years for Junior Hydrogeologist (Scientist B)) as on 01/01/2019.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, 03 years for OBC and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Union Public Servicce Commission (UPSC) will be conducting Combined Geo-Scientist and Geologist Examination, 2019. Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Written Examination and Interview/ Personality Test. The examination will be commencing from 28th June, 2019. The examination will be held at various centres across India. For more details see the Official Advt.

Examination Fee: Candidates must pay Rs. 200/- as Examination Fee. Fee can be paid through Online mode during submission of online application form by using Debit/Credit card or Net banking OR can be paid through Bank by means of fee payment Challan. Fee Challan can be downloaded from the official website of Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). See released advertisement for more details.
NO EXAMINATION FEE REQUIRED IN CASE OF SC/ST/ PWD/FEMALE CANDIDATES.

Upon successful payment of prescribed fee and submission of online application form, the system generated Registration/ Acknowledgement Slip with unique registration number will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it for future correspondence. DO NOT SEND ANY PRINT-OUT/HARD COPY OR DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE. All the verification will be done in due course.
