CSIR-NEIST Apprentice Eligibility Criteria 2026
Candidates willing to apply for the CSIR-NEIST Apprentice Recruitment 2026 must ensure they fulfil the required eligibility criteria in terms of educational qualification and age limit.
Educational Qualification
- Graduate Apprentice (Post Code 1, 2, 3): Must possess a BE/BTech Degree in the relevant engineering discipline (Chemical, Mechanical, Computer Science/IT) from a recognized institute/university. Candidates must have completed the course in regular mode.
- Technician Apprentice (Post Code 4, 5, 6, 7): Must possess a Diploma in the relevant engineering discipline (IT/Computer Engg, Electronics & Telecommunication, Mechanical, Electrical) from a recognized institute. Candidates must have completed the course in regular mode.
- Result Awaited: Candidates who are awaiting results are not eligible to apply.
Age Limit
- For Graduate Apprentice: Minimum 21 years and Maximum 27 years.
- For Technician Apprentice: Minimum 18 years and Maximum 25 years.
- Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is applicable as per Government of India rules for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/EWS/PwBD candidates.

The selection for the CSIR-NEIST Apprenticeship will be based on academic merit and interview performance.

- Interview: Only shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview to be held at CSIR-NEIST, Jorhat.
- Merit List: The list of shortlisted candidates along with the date and time of the interview will be uploaded on the CSIR-NEIST website. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
- Final Selection: Due weightage will be given to academic performance. Candidates must have working knowledge of computers.
