GSET Exam Self-Preparation Strategy
If you want to prepare for the GSET exam at your home without going to any coaching classes, you can do it by making proper planning easily.
- First, you should know what the exam actually demands from you. The exam has two papers. Paper 1 is about general teaching and research topics and Paper 2 is based on the subject you choose. You can download the syllabus from the official GSET website and see all the topics that you need to study till your exam day.
- Once you know the syllabus, you have to make a proper timetable. It’s time to decide how many hours you will study every day. You must give more time to the subjects you feel difficult to solve and also set a little bit less time for easy subject.
- You don’t actually need to study everything in one day. Instead, you can choose to study one or two subjects each week. Don’t forget to keep some time for revision and mock tests too.
- Now, it’s high time to choose your books, resources and materials very wisely. Use exam related textbooks to take your exam preparation to the next level.
- For Paper 1, you need to study topics like teaching skills, research basics, logical reasoning and computers. For Paper 2, you should focus only on your subject and understand its main ideas clearly.
- Next, try to solve previous year question papers regularly. This will help you see what kind of questions are asked, how hard they are, and how fast you can solve them. After solving each paper, you have to check your answers and find out where you are making mistakes. This will help you to identify your weak areas and to gradually improve those areas day by day.
- After that, start giving mock tests on a daily basis like a real exam. You can sit in a place where no one disturbs you at your study time and set a timer. This will help you to be ready for the actual exam day. Once the test is over, check your marks and see where you need to work harder. You will also learn how to manage your time better.
- Revision is also very important. You have to revise everything what you have studied over the week at least once in a week. Make short notes or highlight the main points so that it becomes easy to revise. You can also read them again and again after a few days so that you don’t forget those till the exam day.
- Also, you shuld keep yourself updated with current news, especially for Paper 1. You can read newspapers, follow important events, or watch useful videos to learn about what’s happening around you and throughout the whole world.
- Finally, during the exam, you should manage your time smartly. Don’t spend too much time on hard questions. First answer the easy ones and then try to solve tough questions if you have enough time left. Always keep checking the time so that you don’t leave any question unfinished.
I believe, if you follow these above written methods carefully, you will definitely clear the exam with the perfect score it needs.
