Educational Qualification

The educational qualifications vary according to the post:

  • Assistant Registrar: Master’s degree with minimum 55% marks or equivalent grade point average.
  • Technical Assistant (Chemistry): Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or Bachelor’s degree with Chemistry as main subject with at least 60% marks or its equivalent CGPA.
  • Technical Assistant (CSE): Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and Engineering with at least 60% marks or its equivalent CGPA.
  • Technical Assistant (Physics): Bachelor’s degree in Physics with at least 60% marks or its equivalent CGPA.
  • Technical Assistant (Mechanical): 3-year Diploma in Mechanical, Production or Manufacturing Engineering with at least 60% marks or its equivalent CGPA with relevant experience of Two years after the diploma OR Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Production or Mechanical Engineering with at least 60% marks or its equivalent CGPA.

Age Limit

The age limit is calculated as on the last date of application (20/02/2026):

  • Assistant Registrar: 42 years
  • Technical Assistants: 27 years

Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is applicable for reserved category applicants as per Government of India norms only if the vacancy is reserved for that particular category. PwBD applicants (subject to a maximum of 56 years) & Ex-servicemen are eligible for relaxation as per rules.

Note: No fee will be charged from SC/ST, PwBD & Female applicants.

IIT Goa Non-Teaching Selection Process

The selection process varies by post level:

  • For Pay Level 10 (Group A): A Written Test / any other evaluation process as deemed fit may be conducted which will be qualifying in nature. Applicants who qualify shall be called for interview. The final selection will be based on the performance in the interview only.
  • For Pay Level 04 (Group C): The selection will be based on the written test, as per recruitment rules. Written test means Written Test / Computer Based Test and/or Trade Test and/or any other mode of test, as deemed fit.

How to Apply for IIT Goa Non-Teaching Recruitment 2026

Candidates must apply online through the official IIT Goa website. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Visit the official IIT Goa careers website (Careers@IITGoa page)
Step 2: Register/Login to the online application portal
Step 3: Fill the online application form with accurate details
Step 4: Upload required documents:

  • Photograph
  • Documentary evidence(s) including educational certificates, experience certificates, category certificate (if applicable)
    Step 5: Pay the application fee online (if applicable)
    Step 6: Submit the application and save/print the confirmation

Important:

  • Applicants desirous to apply for more than one post should apply for each post separately along with payment of application fee for each post.
  • There is no need to send the hard copy of the application.
  • Online applications without uploading photographs/documentary evidence(s) will be treated as incomplete and summarily rejected.

Important Instructions

  • Experience Certificate Format: Certificates of experience should be on organization’s letterhead, bearing date of issue, specific period of work, salary, name and designation of issuing authority with signature and stamp.
  • NOC Requirement: Persons employed in Government/Semi-Government Organizations/Autonomous Bodies/PSUs etc. should submit No Objection Certificate (NOC) with vigilance clearance.
  • Document Verification: The Institute shall verify the antecedents and documents submitted by an applicant during the tenure of his/her service.
  • Probation Period: All positions carry a probation period of one year.
  • Correspondence: All communication will be through Institute website/email only. Applicants should provide correct email address and check regularly including spam folder.

IIT Goa Non-Teaching Salary 2026

The salary for various posts is as per 7th Pay Commission:

  • Assistant Registrar: Pay Level 10
  • Technical Assistants: Pay Level 04

Other allowances on Basic Pay shall be paid as per Government of India rates as applicable to IIT Goa. NPS Contribution, Medical facility to employees and dependents, LTC and Children Education Allowance are also admissible as per rules.
