IIT Palakkad Summer Internship 2026 Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following IIT Palakkad Summer Internship Eligibility Criteria to be considered for the programme.
Educational Qualification
For Science, Engineering, and Humanities:
- Postgraduate students (including 4th and 5th year students of integrated master’s programmes).
- Students in the 3rd and 4th year of their four-year Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Sciences.
Other Conditions
- Foreign nationals currently studying in Indian universities/institutes will be treated on par with Indian nationals.
- Foreign nationals studying abroad must adhere to the earlier deadline of March 15, 2026.

How to Apply:
Create Account: Visit the portal and click on “Create new account”. Enter a valid email ID (preferably Gmail) and a username. A system-generated welcome mail will be sent.
- Note: Check spam folder if mail is not received. Unsubscribe from third-party spam blockers to ensure email delivery.
Set Password: Use the link in the welcome mail to log in (one-time use) and set your password.
Login: Log in to the portal using your username and password.
Choose Faculty: Go through the list of internship positions available for Summer 2026. Identify a maximum of two faculty members whose research interests align with yours. Refer to their home pages for an overview.
Prepare Documents:
- Obtain a signed and sealed recommendation/forwarding letter from the Head of your Institution/Department in the prescribed format.
- For converting CGPA to percentage, use the formula: Percentage of marks = (10 x CGPA).
Fill Application: Complete all pages of the application form carefully. Upload the scanned copy of the recommendation letter.
Preview and Submit: Preview the application once and then submit it.
- Minor changes can be made before the closing date via the “Applicant Menu”. After making changes, click “Submit Application” again for the changes to be saved.
