Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 125th Course Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the minimum eligibility requirements in terms of nationality, age, and educational qualification. The required criteria are as mentioned below.
Nationality
The candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India, (ii) a subject of Nepal, or (iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, or East African countries (Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia) and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, subject to possessing a certificate of eligibility from the Government of India (not required for Gorkha subjects of Nepal).
Age Limit
Candidates should be between 21 to 27 years of age as on 1st January 2027 (born not earlier than 2nd January 2000 and not later than 1st January 2006, both dates inclusive). The date of birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary School Examination Certificate on the date of application submission will be final and cannot be changed later.
Educational Qualification
- Minimum 55% aggregate marks in LLB Degree (three years professional course after graduation, or five years after 10+2).
- CLAT PG 2026 Score (conducted in December 2025) is mandatory for all candidates, including LLM qualified and LLM-appearing candidates. No other CLAT PG exam score will be accepted.
- Candidates must be eligible for registration as an advocate with the Bar Council of India/State, and must be from a College/University recognized by the Bar Council of India.

- Fill the online registration form after reading the instructions carefully.

Indian Army JAG Entry Scheme 125th Course Selection Process
The selection procedure consists of the following stages:
- Shortlisting of Applications: Based on vacancy-to-call-up ratio; the Integrated HQ of MoD (Army) reserves the right to shortlist applications without assigning any reason.
- Selection of SSB Centre & Date: Shortlisted candidates select their SSB Centre and date on a first-come-first-served basis; once selected, this cannot be changed later.
- Conduct of SSB: SSB will be conducted at Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh), Bengaluru (Karnataka), and Jalandhar (Punjab). The SSB is a two-stage selection process over five days; candidates who fail Stage-I are sent back on the same day.
- Medical Examination: Conducted for candidates recommended after Stage-II of the SSB. The validity of SSB medical examination is 270 days (SSB to PCTA joining date).
- Merit List: Prepared based on marks obtained at the SSB interview. In case of a tie, the older candidate is ranked higher; if age is also equal, the candidate with a higher percentage in the qualifying examination is ranked higher.
- Joining Letter: Issued to candidates within the merit list and notified vacancies who are declared medically fit, for pre-commission training at OTA, Chennai.
Candidates who fail to report within 7 days of the reporting date will have their candidature cancelled, and the next candidate in merit will be considered.
