Intelligence Bureau, under Ministry of Home Affairs (Govt. of India), is inviting application for direct recruitment to the post of “Assistant Central Intelligence Officer”, Grade-II/Executive, General Central Service, Group-‘C’ (Non-Gazetted/Non-Ministerial). Total No. of vacancies: 750 Nos. (including Fresh vacancies and Backlog vacancies)
— Fresh Vacancies: 413 Nos. (Gen—207; SC—54; ST—18; OBC—134)
— Backlog Vacancies: 337 Nos. (SC—126; ST—44; OBC—167)

Physically Handicapped candidates are not eligible to apply.

 

Educational Qualification: Graduation or equivalent from a recognized University.
Desirable Qualification: Knowledge of Computers.

 

Age Limit: 18 – 27 years as on 09/11/2014. Upper age relaxation for SC/ST – 5yrs; OBC- 3yrs; Widow/Legally separated/ Divorced Women- 08yrs; Ex-Serviceman, Resident of J&K and Others – As per norms.

 

Pay Scale: Rs. 9300-34800 plus Grade Pay Rs. 4200 per month plus other allowances as per norms.

 

The posts are temporary but are likely to continue indefinitely. The post involves All India Service liability. Therefore, the Candidates willing to serve anywhere in India only need to apply.

 

Candidates’ Selection: There will be Written Examination in two papers, viz. Paper I (Objective type) and Paper-II (Descriptive type on English language only). The total duration for both Papers is 1 hour and 40 minutes. Paper I will focus on General Awareness/General Knowledge, Reasoning, Comprehension, Mathematical ability etc. while Paper II will be designed to check English writing skill and analytical capability.
Those candidates who acquire a specific standard in the written test (Paper-I & II) will be called for the interview. The date, place and time of interview shall be intimated to the candidates online.

Based on the performance of the candidates in written test (Paper-I & II) and interview, they will be selected subject to the condition of successful completion of their Character and Antecedent verification and thereafter medical examination.

Necessary information regarding written examination, downloading of admit cards and interview call letters will also be hosted on the website www.mha.nic.in from time to time.

Examination will be at various centres across the country. In West Bengal, the examination centre will be at – Kolkata and Siliguri

 

Examination Fee: Rs.100/- for General and OBC category. Fee is to be paid by cash deposit (offline payment) at any branch of State Bank of India using the Challan form (available in part-II of the online application) OR by using internet banking facility of State Bank of India or ATM-cum-Debit card of State Bank of India only.
NO FEE FOR SC/ST AND ALL FEMALE CANDIDATES.

Candidates should first submit Part-I application and then shall proceed to Part-II registration. See the officially released advertisement given below for detailed instruction on how to apply online.

Upon successful submission of Online Application form, the system generated Registration Slip will appear on the computer screen. Candidates must print-out it and shall retain the same safely for future reference. DO NOT SEND THE PRINT-OUT/ANY DOCUMENTS TO ANYWHERE AT THIS STAGE.
