KCET Counselling 2026: Process, Option Entry Start Date, Seat Allotment & Verification Slip Download Process

The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) declared the KCET 2026 result on June 6, 2026. Now, many students are waiting for the counselling process to begin. As per reports and previous trends, KCET Counselling 2026 is expected to start between June 10 and June 15, 2026. Through this process, you can get admission to engineering and other professional courses in Karnataka.

KEA has not yet released the complete official counselling schedule. However, students should start preparing their documents now so that they do not face any problems later. The option entry and seat allotment process may begin after the completion of JoSAA Round 2 counselling. This helps because many top-ranking students may choose IITs, NITs, or IIITs, which can improve seat availability in Karnataka colleges.

KCET Counselling 2026

The counselling process follows several important steps. First, you have to register online. After that, your documents will be verified. Once verification is complete, you will receive a verification slip. This slip contains login details needed for option entry.

Next, you will choose your preferred colleges and courses. After option entry, KEA will release a mock allotment. This gives you an idea of the college and branch you may get. Finally, the actual seat allotment result will be announced. If you get a seat, you must pay the fee and report to the allotted college.

Documents Required for Verification

You should keep all important documents ready before the counselling process begins. You need the KCET 2026 application form, admit card, rank card, Class 10 marks card, Class 12 marks card, study certificate, and a valid photo ID.

If you are applying under any reservation category, you must also carry your caste certificate, income certificate, rural certificate, Kannada medium certificate, or any other applicable documents. Keep original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies and recent passport-size photographs.

Seat Matrix Information

Before option entry starts, KEA will release the seat matrix. The seat matrix shows how many seats are available in each college and branch. It also shows category-wise seat distribution.

The seat matrix usually includes General Quota seats, Kalyana Karnataka quota seats, special category seats, and Agriculture and Veterinary course seats. You should check the seat matrix carefully before filling your choices.

KCET 2026 Option Entry Date

The official option entry dates have not yet been announced. However, reports suggest that the option entry process may start around June 8 and continue through July. During option entry, you must carefully select and arrange your preferred colleges and courses because these choices directly affect your seat allotment result.

My Suggestion for Students

The Karnataka government has decided that counselling for engineering and other non-medical courses will continue without waiting for NEET UG results. This helps avoid delays in admissions.

The engineering stream topper in KCET 2026 is Tanisha Karthik.

The complete counselling process is expected to continue until September or October 2026. Therefore, you should regularly check the official KEA website for the latest updates.
