Who Can Apply for KRCL Recruitment 2026?
KRCL Recruitment 2026 follows a preference-based eligibility structure, and candidates are categorized as follows:
- Land Loser Candidates: Candidates whose land was acquired for construction of the Konkan Railway Line between Roha (Maharashtra) and Thokur (Karnataka), irrespective of the percentage of land lost, along with their eligible family members (spouse, son, daughter, grandson, granddaughter).
- Employment Exchange Registered Candidates: Candidates domiciled in Maharashtra, Goa, or Karnataka who are registered with Employment Exchanges along the Konkan Railway route (Raigad, Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri districts of Maharashtra; Goa State; Uttara Kannada, Udupi and Dakshina Kannada districts of Karnataka).
- Domicile Candidates: Candidates domiciled in the States of Maharashtra, Goa, or Karnataka.
- KRCL Employees: Serving KRCL employees who have completed at least three years of regular service.
Preference in recruitment is given in the order: Land Loser candidates first, followed by Employment Exchange registered candidates, and finally domicile candidates and eligible KRCL employees. Educational Qualification
Educational qualification requirements vary by post and range from a 10th pass certificate for Track Maintainer, ITI/Matriculation-based trades for Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician and ESTM-III, a Diploma in the relevant Engineering discipline for Junior Engineer posts, to a Bachelor’s Degree in the relevant Engineering discipline for Senior Section Engineer posts, and graduation in any discipline for Section Controller, Station Master, Goods Train Manager and Commercial Supervisor. KRCL Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
The recruitment process varies by post category.
- Section Controller, Station Master, Assistant Loco Pilot: Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Computer-Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)/OMR-based Aptitude Test, Document Verification (DV), and Medical Examination. Merit is prepared by giving 70% weightage to CBT marks and 30% weightage to Aptitude Test marks.
- Senior Section Engineer (Mechanical & S&T), Junior Engineer (Civil & Mechanical), Goods Train Manager, Commercial Supervisor, Technician-III, ESTM-III: CBT followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination.
- Track Maintainer: CBT followed by Document Verification, a mandatory qualifying Physical Efficiency Test (PET), and Medical Examination.
CBTs are tentatively scheduled for September 2026, and will carry negative marking of one mark for each wrong answer. The CBT will be conducted in five languages: English, Hindi, Marathi, Konkani and Kannada (CBAT/OMR-based Aptitude Test for Section Controller, Station Master and Assistant Loco Pilot will be in English and Hindi only).

Application Fee
The examination fee is ₹1,180 (₹1,000 + 18% GST) per examination, plus applicable payment gateway charges. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, Ex-Servicemen, Female, Minorities, Economically Backward Class (EBC), and PwBD categories are eligible for a refund of the examination fee (net of bank charges) upon appearing in the CBT. Fee payment is accepted only through online mode (net banking, debit/credit cards, or UPI).
