Shipping Corporation of India Limited (SCI) is recruiting eligible candidates for 50 posts of Machinist Mechanical (MM), Trainee Machinist Mechanical, Deck Fitter (POM) and Trainee Deck Fitter. The candidates will be appointed on Contract basis. TOTAL VACANCIES: 50 POSTS

NAME OF THE POSTS

1. Machinist Mechanical (MM)
2. Trainee Machinist Mechanical (Tr.MM)
3. Deck Fitter (POM)
4. Trainee Deck Fitter (Tr. POM)

 

Educational Qualification:

i) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from recognized polytechnic or National Trade Certificate in the trade of Machinist Mechanical/ Marine Machinist Mechanical or Diesel / Motor Mechanic or Machinist or Welder issued by NCTVT or ITI.
OR Two years Trade Apprentice certificate from marine workshop in the trade of Machinist Mechanical or Diesel / Motor Mechanic or Machinist.

ii) Candidate should be proficient in any of these below:-

a. Welding and Cutting
b. Fabrication and proficiency in fitting
c. Lathe, drill and machine operation.
d. Ship related maintenance work.

iii) Candidate must be in possession of valid Indian CDC & Passport.

iv) Candidate must be in possession of PAN Card & INDOS NO.

v) Candidate may be in possession of Security Training for Seafarers with Designated Security Duties (STSDSD) from DG approved Institute.

vi) Candidate must be in possession of 04 mandatory certificate as per STCW 2010 from DG approved Institutes.

a. Fire Prevention & Fire Fighting.
b. Personal Survival Techniques.
c. Elementary First Aid.
d. Personal Safety and Social Responsibility.

vii) Candidate may be in possession of Helicopter Underwater Escape Training course.
viii) Candidate may be in possession of valid Police Clearance Certificate (PCC).
ix) Candidate must be medically fit for sea service.

 

Experience: Minimum 06 months sailing experience in last 03 years on vessel GRT more than 500. No experience required for Trainee Machinist Mechanical (Tr.MM) & Trainee Deck Fitter (Tr. POM).

 

Age Limit: Maximum 45 years (maximum 30 years for Tr.MM & Tr. POM).

 

Note:

i) Preference will be given to the candidates who have worked and sailed on vessels having more than 500 GRT for maximum period as Machinist Mechanical & Deck Fitter ( POM).
ii) Preference will be given to MM & Deck fitter who have Six months sailing rank experience Over Trainee MM and Trainee Deck Fitter.

Candidates with requisite qualification, all necessary certificates and without any sailing experience will be selected as Trainee Machinist Mechanical (Tr.MM) & Trainee Deck Fitter (Tr. POM) and will go through fitter familiarization training at NUSI Offshore Training Institute (NOTI) for a period of three (03) weeks. After shore training, trainee MMs/POMs will be posted for onboard training for six (06) months with consolidated stipend of Rs.10,000/- per month.
