MPPSC Assistant Town Planner Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility in terms of education qualification and age limit is discussed below.
Education Qualification – Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree (4-year duration) in Town Planning from a recognised institution, or a Postgraduate degree (M. Plan) in Town Planning/Urban Planning/City Planning/Housing Planning/Rural Planning/Infrastructure Planning/Regional Planning/Transport and Traffic Planning/Land Use Planning/Landscape Planning/Urban Design/Environmental Planning from a recognised institution, or must have passed the AITP examination. A B.E. or M.E. degree in Transport and Traffic Planning will not be considered valid.
Age Limit (as on 01.01.2027) – Candidates must have completed 21 years of age but must not have completed 40 years of age. Age relaxation of up to 5 years is available to reserved category candidates, women, and other eligible categories as per Madhya Pradesh Government rules, but the overall upper age limit after relaxation cannot exceed 45 years for any category.

MPPSC Assistant Town Planner Selection Process
The selection process for the Assistant Town Planner post comprises an objective-type OMR based written examination followed by an interview.
- Written Examination: OMR-based objective questions, with negative marking for wrong answers.
- Based on merit in the written exam, candidates equal to three times the number of vacancies (category-wise) will be called for interview. Where the number of eligible candidates is less than 500, all eligible candidates will be shortlisted for interview based on merit.
- Final Selection: Based on the combined merit of marks obtained in the written examination and the interview.
- Interview is out of 100 marks, with a minimum qualifying score of 41 for unreserved category and 31 for reserved category/divyangjan candidates.
The written examination will be conducted at exam centres in Indore.
