MPSC JSO Job Description
Selected candidates will be required to conduct scientific examination and analysis of forensic exhibits in their respective division (DNA, Fingerprint, Chemistry, Ballistics & Toolmarks, Questioned Documents, Photography, Cyber Forensics); attend crime scenes for identification, documentation, collection and preservation of evidence (especially for DNA & Fingerprint); maintain chain of custody; operate relevant forensic instruments and techniques; prepare scientific reports; assist investigating agencies; and depose as expert witness in courts.

- Mizo Language Proficiency: Candidates must clear the qualifying test in Mizo Language Proficiency, as prescribed by the Government. Candidates who studied Mizo as a subject in Class-X (HSLC) or above within Mizoram, or who opted for Mizo as MIL outside Mizoram, are exempted from this test.
