Eligibility Criteria for NESAC Recruitment 2026
The candidates who wish to appear for the NESAC walk-in-interview need to satisfy the eligibility criteria defined in terms of educational qualification and age limit. The date of the walk-in-interview will be treated as the cut-off date for determining eligibility in all respects.
Educational Qualification
- Research Scientist: First Class M.Sc./M.Tech (or equivalent) in the relevant discipline (varies by post code, e.g., Geology, Computer Science & Engineering, Disaster Management, Botany/Forestry, Physics/Meteorology), along with at least one year of relevant research/work experience.
- Junior Research Fellow: First Class M.Sc./M.Tech/B.E./B.Tech in the relevant discipline along with a valid NET/GATE (or equivalent qualifying test such as JAM, JEST/JGEEBILS, or AICE) in the relevant field.
- Project Associate-I: First Class M.Sc. in Botany/Forestry/Environmental Science or equivalent discipline, with a minimum of one year of experience in plant identification.
Minimum aggregate marks required:
- M.E./M.Tech: minimum 60% aggregate (or CGPA/CPI of 6.5 on a 10-point scale)
- B.E./B.Tech/M.Sc.: minimum 65% aggregate (or CGPA/CPI of 6.84 on a 10-point scale)
