The NMDC Limited has released a detailed notification announcing a total of 59 vacancies for the post of Junior Engineer (Mining) (Contractual) in Grade CE-04. Candidates with a Diploma in Mining Engineering are eligible to apply.
The selection process for the recruitment of Junior Engineers (Mining) (Contractual) (CE-04) has been changed. Previously, the process may have differed, but as per the latest revision, it will now consist of a Computer Based Test (CBT) followed by a Supervisory Skill Test. Candidates must first qualify in the CBT with category-wise minimum marks, after which those meeting the 1:3 ratio (or tied candidates) will be called for the Supervisory Skill Test. Final selection will be based on CBT marks, subject to qualifying the Skill Test. All other terms of Employment Notification No. 04/2026 remain unchanged.

NMDC Junior Engineer Selection Process 2026
The selection process for NMDC Junior Engineer (Mining) posts consists of the following stages:
Stage I: Computer Based Test (CBT)
- Format: Multiple Choice Questions (100 marks total).
- Minimum Qualifying Marks (Category-wise):
- SC/ST/PwD: 40 marks
- OBC (NCL): 45 marks
- UR & EWS: 50 marks
- Other details: Candidates choose exam centers as decided by the Management. Call letters are hosted on the NMDC website and communicated via email and post.
Stage II: Supervisory Skill Test
- Eligibility for this stage: Candidates are called in a 1:3 ratio (category-wise) based on marks obtained in the CBT.
- Note on tie-breaking: If two or more candidates in the same category score equal marks in the CBT such that the 1:3 ratio is exceeded, all such candidates with the equal marks will be called for the Supervisory Skill Test (the ratio is ignored in this case).
- Qualifying Marks (out of 100 total):
- SC/ST/PwD: 30 marks
- OBC (NCL): 37 marks
- UR & EWS: 40 marks
Final Selection
- Based on the marks obtained in the CBT, subject to qualifying the Supervisory Skill Test (i.e., scoring at least the category-specific minimum marks in the Skill Test).
Note: TA will be paid on production of original Railway/Bus tickets. The TA claim form (Annexure-I) is available on the NMDC website. Payment will be made through e-payment.
