1. Computer Science & Engineering

  • BE/B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, 1st Division, with a valid GATE score, or
  • ME/M.Tech in Computer Science Engineering, 1st Division at both graduate (B.Sc/B.Tech) and postgraduate level.

2. Mechanical Engineering

  • BE/B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, 1st Division, with valid GATE, or
  • ME/M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, 1st Division at both levels.

3. Chemical Engineering / Rubber Technology / Polymer Technology / Nanotechnology / Materials Science

  • BE/B.Tech in any of these fields, 1st Division, with valid GATE, or
  • ME/M.Tech in the same fields, 1st Division at both levels.

4. Opto Electronics

  • BE/B.Tech in Opto Electronics, 1st Division, with valid GATE, or
  • ME/M.Tech in Opto Electronics, 1st Division at both levels, or
  • BE/B.Tech in Electrical & Electronics/Electronics & Communication Engineering (with at least one paper in Fibre Optics/Optoelectronics/Laser Technologies), 1st Division, with valid GATE.

5. Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Communication / Instrumentation Engineering

  • BE/B.Tech in any of these branches, 1st Division, with valid GATE, or
  • ME/M.Tech in the same branches, 1st Division at both levels.

6. Physics

  • Postgraduate degree in Basic Science relevant to the discipline, 1st Division, with valid NET/GATE.

7. Oceanography / Ocean Technology / Meteorology

  • Postgraduate degree in Basic Science relevant to the discipline, 1st Division, with valid NET/GATE, or
  • ME/M.Tech in Oceanography/Ocean Technology/Meteorology, 1st Division at both levels.

Note on NET: For this recruitment, NET is also treated as inclusive of other relevant national-level fellowships awarded by Central Government departments/agencies.

Note on equivalence: Acceptable equivalent subjects/disciplines will be decided as per RAC, DRDO norms, and the Director, NPOL’s decision on qualification equivalence is final.

Age Limit

Fellowship Amount and Duration

Selected JRFs will receive:
