ii) Preference will be given to candidates who possess Graduate in Economics/ Education/ Sociology/ Statistics or Psychology and to those with Post Graduate Diploma in Social Science and Experience in Industrial/ Personnel Management/ Labour Welfare.

8. DISTRICT OFFICER (FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES) – TAMIL NADU FIRE AND RESCUE SERVICES

Educational Qualification: Should possess a Degree of any recognized University/ Institution.
Age Limit: Minimum 21 years and maximum 32 years as on 01/07/2019.
Pay Scale: Rs.56100-177500/-
The candidates will be appointed on Direct Recruitment basis.
Candidates should possess adequate knowledge in Tamil for all the above posts.
Upper Age Relaxation: Upper age limit is relaxable by 05 years for SC/ST, MBC/DC, BC, BCM, Destitute Widows and 10 years for PWD category. Ex-Serviceman & Others, if any — As per Govt. norms.
Physical Standards (For Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cat.I) & District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services) only):
A. Deputy Superintendent of Police (Cat.I) :
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 165 cms; Chest (unexpanded) — 81 cms; Chest (expanded) — 86 cms
(ii) Female Candidates: Height — 155 cms
B. District Officer (Fire and Rescue Services):
(i) Male Candidates: Height — 165 cms; Chest (unexpanded) — 84 cms; Chest (expanded) — 89 cms; Weight — 50 kgs
(ii) Female Candidates: Height — 155 cms
Candidates’ Selection: Selection of candidates will be through Preliminary Examination, Main Written Examination and Oral Test. The Preliminary Examination will be held on 03/03/2019. The Preliminary Examination will be held at various centres in the State of Tamil Nadu. For more details please see the Official Advt. The Main Written Examination is tentatively scheduled to be held in Last week of May 2019 at Chennai only. The Oral Test will be held tentatively in the month of October 2019.
